Mr Michael Wong

Mr Michael Wong is a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Royal London Hospital, where he serves as the lead consultant for Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology services. He specialises in gynaecological ultrasound, early pregnancy care, benign gynaecology, and minimally invasive surgery, including advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

Mr Wong graduated from the University of Leicester in 2005 and gained broad clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology throughout his training. Between 2010 and 2011, he worked in rural South Africa, further expanding his experience in women's health and gynaecological care.

During his specialist training in London, he completed a prestigious clinical research fellowship at University College London Hospital under the supervision of Davor Jurkovic. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from University College London for his research into the ultrasound assessment and management of endometrial cancer and endometrial polyps.

Mr Wong has authored numerous scientific publications and has presented his work internationally, particularly in the field of gynaecological ultrasound. His research achievements led to him being selected as a finalist for the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology Young Investigator Award in 2017, 2019, and 2020.

In addition to his clinical and research work, he is actively involved in postgraduate education and regularly teaches on advanced laparoscopy and ultrasound training courses at Barts.

His clinical practice focuses on the assessment and treatment of women with abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, early pregnancy complications, fibroids, endometrial polyps, ovarian cysts, adenomyosis, and endometriosis. He is particularly recognised for his expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic gynaecological ultrasound and for using minimally invasive surgical techniques to improve patient outcomes and recovery.
