I am VERY physically active and have run frequently since the age of 14; I was operated on ~1 month before my 50th birthday. I have also inherited osteoarthritis, but in hindsight, I seem to have managed this better than my dad, who had his first arthroscopy before he hit 40 years of age. Mr Whittingham-Jones performed arthroscopy on my right knee because there were several sizeable loose bodies in there, which caused my knee to 'catch' in such a way when I walked that it would buckle on me; there was also fleeting sharp pain when it did so. In addition, MRI scans showed a 'flap' of torn posterior horn medial meniscus that needed to be tidied up/excised. Mr Whittingham-Jones removed the loose bodies, and I have rehabilitated well, with a lot of effort*. However, the flap of meniscus still causes my knee to catch from time to time. * I feel that there should be much better information provided regarding the 'rehab journey' for patients, broken down according to age, history, pathology, etc. There is scope for someone to make a LOT of money providing this as an online service...

Having had my first ever experience with NHS A&E, the administrative teams of an NHS hospital and the queue time for a final resolution to my issue, it was a fantastic and pleasurable exprience from the moment I walked through the doors at Devonshire Street, the nursing care and advice received, the professionalism and efficiency and the simple comparison that the NHS would have left me with a permanent catheter until January 2026 whereas HCA removed it immediately and provided DIY non permanent ones for use if needed, the quality of life difference following my initial consultations with HCA were huge. Furrther consultations at the Shard, the process, advice and consultation with Mr. Brown were non other than exceptionally pleasurable and first class. For a health issue to be "pleasurable" should say it all. I am not one to overdo praise or glorifyand commend minimum expectations as I set a high bar in my own professional life. With all that said, I have no higher praise or commendation I can give. The service, process and Christian Brown were excellent from start to finish.

After a very long painful wait for treatment under the NHS, which never got to the stage of a surgery date, I visited Mr Anderson. The relief I gained form the initial consultation, knowing someone could finally help me was beyond huge. Mr Anderson talked though my options and we agreed a timeframe for treatment. Mr Anderson and Janine have both been fantastic. From the first meeting and initial contact with Janine to my hospital stay and surgery. Their care has been exceptional. I was updated with every step of the process very quickly, knew what the next steps would be and kept very clearly in the loop. My experience in hospital was great, I saw Mr Anderson daily. The follow up appointments were conducted timely and I felt very looked after the whole time. To say finding Mr Anderson was life changing for me is not an exaggeration. I recommend Mr Anderson to anyone looking for treatment within his field, he is friendly, down to earth and clearly very experienced within his field.

He explained the procedure, potential outcomes, and risks very clearly, making sure I fully understood everything. Although I initially had fears and second thoughts, he reassured me with data, clear explanations, and his evident expertise. Mr. Yip is not only an expert surgeon in his field but also very compassionate — he truly made me feel heard and supported. Even after I was discharged, whenever I had concerns about my post-surgical symptoms, he and his team patiently reassured me and provided guidance. Got my Somnowell mouth guard fitted at Causeway Dental in Teddington. Highly recommend the dentist. She was great. The guard really does work if I’m sleeping on my side. My partner and I now sleep together in the same bed! I’ve had the guard for about 6 months- don’t wear it every night as we don’t live together. It does feel a bit weird to wear but I have got used to it. It’s not so useful when I’m on my back as I tend to breathe through my mouth and will snore then. This Somnowell information does address this issue. I would really recommend it - and have - if you snore a lot and have sleep apnea as I do. It really works.

On the day of the operation Mr Gurjar took time to come and see me to check I was ok and explaining what was going to happen before, during and after the operation. Following on from the operation I had my follow on appointment after 6 weeks again Mr Gurjar made me feel very welcome, asking how I had been and checking the area where my operation. Mr Gurjar is very professional but also has a compassionate side, he has a good way with people. I am very glad I chose Mr Gurjar as my surgeon.

Avni is absolutely brilliant and I cannot recommend her enough. She started treated me during pregnancy but I have continued to see her after. Avni is really caring and intuitive and the only osteopath that I have been to who really manages to address any pain that I have been experiencing. She doesn't insist that you come back week after week, unless the treatment specifically requires a few sessions. She takes a holistic approach to wellness and provides really useful tips and recommendations that have helped me in all aspects of life.

I felt at ease with her straight away and she listened to my ongoing problems with anxiety, towards the end of session she recommended a change of medication with a review in 3 weeks time. Highly recommend the advice and treatment provided by Miss Thompson. As a runner I was suffering from persistent ankle pain for which rest and physio made no difference. Miss Thompson recommended an ankle arthroscopy at which she found scar tissue and was able to surgically remove on the day. Always sceptical if surgery is the right option however a correct diagnosis and skilful treatment has seen a huge improvement

Everyone was friendly and the place clean but one of the receptions in radiology was very load speak so you heard all her conversations and calls clear as day. You are asked to to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment but I did have to do anything just wait long as I didn’t get in on time and I can only guess they ran late as two people arrived after and went in before me.
