Mr Alan Highcock

Mr Alan Highcock is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus on high-volume hip and knee reconstruction. Since qualifying from the University of Liverpool in 2005, he has developed extensive expertise in the management of hip and knee conditions, from joint preservation and primary replacement to complex revision surgery. He also serves as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at a leading private hospital on the Wirral.

Mr Highcock has a particular interest in the use of advanced surgical technology to improve the precision of complex joint reconstruction. He was the first surgeon in the UK to perform a revision total knee replacement using Pixee Augmented Reality technology, which provides real-time visualisation of alignment and implant positioning during surgery. His specialist training includes advanced international fellowship experience in adult hip and knee reconstruction, including the prestigious Allan Gross Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, followed by the Cavendish Hip Fellowship in Sheffield.

He is recognised as a high-volume revision hip and knee specialist, managing complex cases involving failed or painful joint replacements. His practice combines evidence-based surgical techniques with a focus on achieving consistently high patient satisfaction, with reported satisfaction rates of 98%.
