Mr Sanjay Gupta

Mr Sanjay Gupta is a distinguished Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Honorary Clinical Associate Professor who holds an international reputation for his work in complex musculoskeletal oncology and advanced joint reconstruction. An award-winning Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, he also serves as an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow, combining internationally recognised clinical expertise with a leading role in surgical education and academic research.

His clinical expertise was refined through prestigious fellowship training at both the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. More recently he has been the recipient of the prestigious American-British-Canadain (ABC) Travelling Fellowship and the British Orthopaedic Oncology Society Travelling Fellowship. This international foundation is furthered by his commitment to global surgical education. Each year, he volunteers his time on overseas surgical missions, travelling to countries in Africa and Asia to train local surgeons, perform complex procedures, and help establish sustainable musculoskeletal oncology services that continue to benefit patients long after his visits.

In addition to his surgical practice, Mr Gupta is a prolific researcher who contributes extensively to the advancement of orthopaedic science. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications, with research focusing on improving recovery after joint replacement surgery and advancing the understanding of tumour biology to enhance patient outcomes. He has been recognised with multiple travelling fellowships to world-leading institutions, ensuring his patients benefit from the most modern, evidence-based surgical techniques.
