Dr William Buxton is a highly accomplished Consultant Anaesthetist who provides expert perioperative care and advanced anaesthetic services. With a patient-centred approach, he specialises in delivering safe, tailored anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures. His clinical practice is characterised by a commitment to patient safety, comfort, and the utilisation of modern techniques to optimise recovery outcomes.
Prior to his current Consultant roles, Dr Buxton gained unique and rigorous experience serving as a Military Doctor with the Royal Marine Commandos, having also earned his Parachute Regiment wings. His extensive postgraduate training includes prestigious clinical fellowships, notably in obstetric anaesthesia at a major teaching hospital in Toronto, Canada, and an advanced fellowship in neuroanaesthesia at a leading university in California. These diverse experiences have equipped him with exceptional skills in managing complex clinical scenarios and high-pressure environments.
Dr Buxton began his academic journey at the University of Nottingham, where he graduated with an honours degree in Chemistry, before obtaining his medical degree (MBBS) from King's College London in 2008. He completed his specialist postgraduate training in anaesthesia within a London deanery and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2017. He is an active Advanced Life Support Instructor, regularly leading national training and simulation courses, and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals.
