I went privately for a hip replacement. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I was met in reception by a lovely man who took my bag for me an led me to my room. I was admitted by staff who each came to introduce themselves and explain what they would be doing. The room was lovely with a view onto the woodland just outside where a herd of small deer ran past one morning. The food was excellent and the staff were plentiful and friendly. If I had not been there for surgery, I would still have been happy to stay in that room! The surgery was fine and the aftercare was very efficiently handled by all concerned. When I did need to press my buzzer for attention, someone responded promptly and fetched the relevant staff members to help me. I felt safe and well cared for. It was the first time I have had surgery and I was apprehensive but the staff were all calm and reassuring.

I had a check up and cleaning from the dentist Sonia. What a marvellous professional and friendly person. I am extremely nervous at dentist but Sonoa went above a beyond to make me at easy. She transmitted me calm and I'd never ever thought to feel calm at the dentist. I only hope she will not leave as well. I am so tired of OSD turnover of staff it's very stressful for me getting used to someone and than change it. Sonia is precious if I was OSD boss I'd do whatever I can to keep this kind of empathetic professional with me. Doc Sonia thank you from the bottom of my heart to make me feel special. From the moment I first arrived, everyone was friendly and welcoming. As the treatment progressed, the friendliness continued with the further use of very impressive analytical machinery each with a specific purpose. This was followed by a very informative chat with the the surgeon, Mr. Mazen Tahhan, who provided me with the information to aid my decision. The actual treatment followed a few days later and was completely painless. A week later, I was given a 100% success rating and an appointment for my second eye. This was a similar experience.

Gayle is polite, respectful, understanding, and easy to talk to, as well as thorough and interested to understand and create a full picture. She’s very knowledgeable in a range of areas and made various links between results and possible causes. I look forward to continuing my health improvement with her support.

I noticed the cleanliness of the office and waiting rooms. A very polite gentleman dealt with our car parking charge and wished us well - this was noted too. We were also kept informed of why the appointment was slightly late - this too was most appreciated since others in the waiting room were going ahead of us despite having later appointments. Simple things do make all the difference. Appointment itself was efficient as was the subsequent X-ray test downstairs. All in all - very pleased.

It was great to be able to see Mr Steven Lau at the Spencer, although a great shame that the NHS does not recognise crossover between private and public services. I had paid £250 to see Mr Lau for the same consultation as I had on 7th January, meaning that I am no further along the path of accessing the treatment I’ve waited 21 months for. I am grateful, however, that I’m accessing private services via the NHS

I have everything to be grateful for under the care of Mr David Lawrence over the last 5 years. I presented with multiple primary tumours in different areas. The case was complex with competing priorities and several consultants from different disciplines involved. Thoracotomy is significant surgery for all involved. The care Mr Lawerence took pre and post op stood out. His surgery was without complications.

Serge is an excellent professional from what I have experienced. No, he does not have a good bedside manner, but he is a great consultant. I take the latter over the former. He is very to the point and my first consultation with him took 17 minutes which included an examination. If you are fragile and want a sympathetic ear, he's not your man. If you want a great professional, don't hesitate.

Dr Michael’s explanations were excellent and he indicated options in a concise and easy to understand manner. We agreed that right now there was no real need for intervention as my hernia does not cause any discomfort. He did however make me aware of a process to revisit in the future if circumstances change or the hernia starts to become uncomfortable.
