Mr Antony Palmer

Mr Antony Palmer is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with an NHS Practice at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. He specialises in primary and revision hip replacements.

Mr Palmer graduated from the University of Oxford Medical School in 2006, where he then completed an NIHR-integrated academic training programme. His DPhil (PhD) investigated the development of hip osteoarthritis in the general population and elite athletes.

On completing his clinical training, he worked as a Locum Consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore), prior to returning to Oxford. At Stanmore, he developed expertise in minimally invasive surgery, robotics, and custom-made implants.

In addition to his clinical work, he is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, conducting research into perioperative care and joint infection, with the aim of improving patient outcomes.
