I had my first appointment at Butterfeild Osteopathy in Stoke Newington, and I honestly couldn't be more impressed. The clinic is serene, spotless, and incredibly relaxing. The whole environment feels calm, green, and tranquil, which immediately put me at ease. I was treated by Emma, and she is an absolute miracle worker. I went in with severe pain from piriformis syndrome and could barely walk comfortably. After just one treatment, I experienced instant relief. I walked out feeling virtually pain-free, which was incredible. Emma is highly skilled, professional, and has such a reassuring approach. I genuinely can't recommend her highly enough. I'm already booked in for another treatment next week, and after the results from just one session, I can't wait to go back. Thank you, Emma, for your amazing work. I always feel in good hands when I visit a Spire and especially the Wirral one. The only thing I would say is that despite it being a private hospital you still cannot get a consultation with a consultant in less than 2 weeks. My GP at Spire did her job and referred me to a consultation but I tried 3 hospitals and all could not accommodate me for 2 weeks and no doubt I’ll have to wait for a treatment date too after the initial consultation. This is annoying as the NHS isn’t much longer to wait and over the years I’ve paid thousands in private health insurance so when I need help from a doctor I can get it immediately if not within a few days. As I have health anxiety this just makes matters worse for me having to prolong the wait for an outcome.

The staff were wonderful. My one very small point for improvement, which I did mention to Mr Marshall, was the giving of the final instructions by one of the nursing staff. These concerned wound care and pain relief. When a patient has just had a general anaesthetic, a written list of instructions would be a good idea, not just verbal instructions. I was fortunate that my wife took notes, but if she had not been there, I would never have remembered everything! But this really was a very minor point, and is intended to help, not criticise!

Dr Rufus Cartwright is very knowledgeable in the area of uro-gynaecology and keeps himself updated on the latest technologies to relieve urine incontinence for example. He made otherwise difficult examinations, more relaxing, quick and as painless as possible. The overall experience was excellent. I rang last Friday morning around 10 to ask for an appointment to assess a skin lesion that seemed to have changed rapidly. I was given the option of seeing a GP on the following Monday or having a consultation with a dermatologist that afternoon. I decided to go for the latter option and arrived for my appointment at 15.00. By 15.30 I left the hospital with my mind put at rest so that I could enjoy the weekend.

I went to see Scott about my lack of joint stability, due to my hypermobility, as it's started to become an issue when weightlifting. Scott put together a programme for me that addressed everything I needed and my weak points have improved a lot in a fairly short amount of time thanks to him. I'm in a much better place now with my joint stability and Scott was great throughout - very competent, friendly, and just made me feel well taken care of.
