The dental appointment was for my daughter. It was not as pleasant as it usually is. The dentist was quite harsh the way she spoke to my daughter. As the dentist was cleaning her teeth, she hasn't told my daughter what she had to do step by step, like pre warning saying " you might feel a bit of pressure as I clean your teeth" or even pre warn my daughter that it'll be a bit uncomfortable. I was there but didn't say anything because I thought my daughter was coping with the cleaning of her teeth. I haven't heaed the dentist even askes my daughter if she was okey during the whole procedure. It seems that she doesn't care of how my daughter was coping. After we've left the clinic, my daugher burst into tears and she was so shaken from the experience she just had at the dental clinic. She felt scared of the dentist and traumatized by the care that they've given her. It was a horrible feeling to see that my daughter felt so scared becuase of the incident. Yes, maybe, the dentist might hqve been just frank upon reminding the importance of good dental hygiene but there's a more linient approach in doing so when it comes to explaining it to children. We still wanted to continue going to dental essence but we've requested a different dentist for my daughter. She was to traumatized that she doesn't want to see the same dentist anymore.

I think Dr Sharma herself was really excellent. But I found the admin around the appointment quite disorganised. I phoned to ask if all I needed was my Axa claim number but couldn't get through on the phone, so I left a voice message, but no one got back to me. So when I arrived for my appointment I specifically asked the receptionist if that was all they needed, and she said yes. And yet I later got a text message asking me for my Axa membership number too. Quite frankly, the message looked like a scam. It came from an 07 number, there was very little information in the message (perhaps for privacy reasons), with no mention of the hospital or Dr Sharma, and it did not address me by my name. It also mentioned phf.uk.com, which had not been in any of the previous information I had received. I phoned the hospital and thankfully someone did answer this time, and it was the woman who had sent the text message. I raised similar concerns to those outlined above, but she did not seem to understand or care, and her tone made me think she thought I was stupid for not magically understanding how things work internally. Again, Dr Sharma was really excellent, so I hope the admin side of things can be improved.

An all round excellent experience. My appointment was arranged within a week, on arrival staff were very friendly and helpful. The consultant was very thorough in going through past medical history as well as ongoing symptoms. Found out a few issues that had never been picked up by my own GP practice, reassurance given, and appropriate follow up tests / procedures have been put in place. Some of my issues have been ongoing for almost five years, others possibly much longer. All medical information was explained to me in an easy to understand way. Overall, being able to find out all this in my first consultation is extremely reassuring and helpful. Without this private appointment, I would have had a very lengthy wait, i had been advised this previously by my own GP - several years or longer to be seen by respiratory medicine on the NHS. Very glad to have private medical insurance and able to get seen so quickly.

Dr. Amber is a breath of fresh air when it comes to understanding and supporting individuals with ADHD. Her approach is knowledgeable, compassionate, and strength-based. She has a lovely manner with young people and an exceptional ability to explain things in ways that are relatable and easy to understand. Her extensive experience in managing ADHD—both medically and non-medically—is evident in the clear and simple way she communicates information. The background forms are thorough, and her ability to bring together the information, interview insights, and possible treatment options is truly enlightening. Dr. Amber’s manner is non-threatening and positive, and she consistently provides explanations at an age-appropriate level. The consultation felt therapeutic and helped my son better understand his strengths and the reasons behind some of his challenges.

RTN Mental Health - Right To Choose

I was referred by my GP to RTN via Right To Choose and I have been diagnosed with combined type ADHD. I wanted an assessment which was thorough as I have other conditions such as anxiety, and it was very comprehensive. I felt like my full history was properly reviewed and explained to me. The assessment process was also vulnerable to go through, especially as an adult in my 40s, but all the staff I spoke to via email or face-to-face were very kind, supportive and validating. Thank you. My overall experience was excellent and I would highly recommend RTN to others. My one small piece of feedback is whether you can incorporate a save button in the online forms. I find form-filling quite overwhelming and I think it would have helped to be able to do it in stages.

I was scheduled for a laparoscopic bilateral cystectomy. My disappointment stems from a critical failure in communication immediately prior to surgery.Minutes before the procedure, and while already prepped, I was informed by an unfamiliar doctor—not my primary gynecologist —that a bilateral salpingectomy (fallopian tube removal) was being added to the plan. This major change, involving the removal of a reproductive organ, was sprung on me at the most vulnerable moment, leaving absolutely no time to process this significant loss or ensure fully informed consent. It felt as though my fallopian tubes were taken without my proper agreement. A change in procedure of this magnitude must be communicated well in advance, not moments before surgery.

As a family our experience of Luxe Psychology Practice has been excellent. Jade developed instant rapport with my daughter who initially needed help for separation anxiety. My daughter really engaged with Jade during her weekly sessions and we were able to apply a number of practical coping strategies that were child friendly. Jade was able to put my daughter at ease and make the sessions both fun and practical whilst teaching emotional regulation strategies. Over the course of my daughter’s sessions Jade has always been professional, supportive and has always made to time to ensure we as parents know exactly how we can best support our child.
