Benenden Hospital has been caring for patients since 1907, having been opened to treat patients with Tuberculosis. The hospital has since then developed to provide a range of facilities and services to essentially care for and rehabilitate self-funding private patients and Benenden Health members.

Furthermore, the Ambulatory Care Unit was provided with advanced equipment for upper gastro-intestinal investigations, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.

Although everybody was friendly, it's lost its personal touch. Feels like just another procedure in many. Also, I am vegan and gluten intolerant. I was asked many times before the procedure re allergies or intolerances and then given Bourbon biscuits as part of recovery. It's important the message is carried through. For some people that could have been a very serious issue.

Overall experience good other than some specks of room cleaning not perfect. Lid of a mini shampoo on bathroom floor and another under armchair in corner. Evening meal - only offered sandwich - as I had fasted all day yoghurt or piece of fruit should have been offered. Night nurse eventually found a banana for me. Like wise breakfast service not good. Tray brought in and assistant left twice to recover items she had forgotten. Asking for milk to go with the earl grey - she advised that milk was not served with earl grey. Eventually brought some. Tea stewed and cold by the point. Nurse offered to replace.

Had a inguinal hernia operation that went smoothly the staff were very professional in every way which made me feel at ease could not complain about anything
