I would like to begin by acknowledging the excellent care I received from the doctors during my first visit. Both clinicians went above and beyond, and I felt genuinely supported by them. Unfortunately, this high standard was not reflected in my interactions with the reception and administrative staff. After my consultation, the doctor provided me with a ticket for my next appointment and advised that, in the meantime, I should attend the imaging department for an ultrasound. When I arrived at imaging, the staff were dismissive and informed me that, because I was an NHS patient, they would need to write to my GP for a separate referral. I explained that the doctor had instructed me to have the ultrasound the same day. The staff member responded that if I waited in reception, she would speak to the doctor, adding that “quite often they don’t know how things are done.” I waited for an hour with no update. When I approached the desk to ask for news, the staff member replied, “I’m sorry, I forgot all about you,” and said she would speak to the doctor immediately. After she finally did so, the situation changed dramatically: I was suddenly offered an ultrasound appointment for 11:30 a.m. that same day — just an hour and a half later. It was clear that once the doctor became aware of the issue, the department acted quickly and efficiently, which I appreciated, especially as I live only ten minutes away. The ultrasound itself was carried out professionally, and the doctor performing it was excellent. He explained everything clearly and asked when my next appointment was. When I told him it was scheduled for six weeks later, he advised me to return to the main reception and request an earlier appointment, as his report would be completed that same day. However, when I approached reception, I was dismissed outright and told, “Doctors make appointments six weeks in advance — it is what it is.” Additionally, there was no record of my attendance on their system, only an appointment dated 23 March 2026, which, by their own admission, belonged to a different patient entirely. On reflection, while staff may appear polite on the surface, the reality of my experience was the opposite. The inconsistency, dismissiveness, and lack of coordination created unnecessary stress and undermined the otherwise excellent clinical care I received.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Mr Chin and his entire team for the exceptional care I received during my C-section. From the very first consultation, he was incredibly informative, thorough, and patient. He took the time to explain everything in detail, answered all of our questions, and made both my husband and me feel completely reassured and confident in the plan moving forward. On the day of the surgery, his calm and caring manner immediately put us at ease. The entire team was professional, compassionate, and supportive throughout the experience. Everything went perfectly, and we felt we were in the very best hands. The aftercare has been just as outstanding. My recovery has gone so smoothly, and the healing of my stitches has been remarkable. In fact, every midwife, nurse, and doctor who has reviewed my wound since has commented that it is the best healing they have seen. I am beyond grateful for the skill, care, and kindness shown to us. I would highly recommend Mr Chin and his team to anyone needing obstetric care. Thank you again for such an amazing experience.

My surgery at the New Foscote hospital with Mr Khan seemed simple and straightforward other than the IoPTH machine failed a couple of surgeries before mine. This meant not knowing that my levels had normalised immediately and having to wait for post op blood test results. Sadly it turned out that my levels didn't normalise and a further scan showed a fifth unexpected gland with a small adenoma. This resulted in needing a second surgery. I opted to have this at the Manor Hospital Oxford purely because of the dates available. I received the same level of care and attention at both facilities and each time suffered no after effects due to surgery. Minor discomfort each time. The second op could have been avoided if a 4DCT scan had been carried out prior to my first surgery (it would have been available on insurance) but there was nothing to suggest that this would be necessary.

Dr Dayavathi Ashok

Dr Ashok assisted my elderly father when we were effectively abandoned by the NHS. My father was in excruciating pain and his hands were like balloons. We had no idea what was wrong with him and he was sent away with no pain medication or a referral from the NHS GP to a specialist for further investigation. The GP simply said “it’s part of the aging process” and sent my father (who was crippled with pain) away. I reached out to Spires where they referred my father to Dr.Ashok. She immediately understood the severity of my father’s situation and took action. She treated my elderly parents with incredible kindness and the utmost of respect and care. I cannot thank Dr.Ashok enough for her professionalism, dedication and determination to put my father on the path to recovery - especially after he’d been so woefully let down by our National Health Service.

I cannot thank Mr. Niall Sullivan enough for the excellent care I received throughout my hip replacement journey. From the very beginning to the end, his professionalism, skill, and genuine care were outstanding. What really set him apart was his dedication. Niall came in every single day whilst I was in hospital to check on me, even on Sunday, which meant so much and was incredibly reassuring. He always took the time to explain things clearly, answer questions, and make sure I was comfortable and confident in my recovery. I felt truly looked after at every stage, and the standard of care was exceptional. I would highly recommend Mr. Sullivan to anyone considering hip replacement surgery. An outstanding consultant and a credit to his profession.

Overall, I had a good experience at the Fitzrovia Suite. The midwives were supportive, kind, and readily available, providing good care following my c section. I was particularly grateful for the overnight support. The team helped look after my baby, ensuring I was able to get much-needed sleep and rest, which was invaluable for my recovery. However, The handover process between midwives during shift changes could be better managed, as there were some gaps in communication between team members. Additionally, the catering was fairly average and quite rigid in terms of meal timings and available options, which could be more flexible.

Today's clinic visit was extremely smooth, streamlined and pleasant, the best I have ever had, with no waiting time between each stage of the clinic process. This has not always been my experience when the clinic is very busy. Also, there is a little more waste of clinic time when I am seen by an unfamiliar junior doctor. The receptionists and nurses overall are helpful, efficient and friendly. The volunteer is very nice and welcoming, relaxing the otherwise stressful hospital atmosphere. The Christie has been very good to mevand I appreciate all the things you do.

I attended tonight for a scan of my hands with Dr Patterson. On arrival I was welcomed at reception, checked in quickly and asked to take a seat in the waiting room. Breda then came out and called me to attend the consultation room, introductions were made, and Dr Patterson then performed my scan, he was professional, and provided information relevant to my condition. The whole consultation was a pleasure and demonstrated the significance difference a private company can make to a struggling NHS. Thankyou both again for such a positive experience.
