I have been very happy with my overall experience at Vision Scotland Edinburgh. The staff were both friendly and professional. I was well informed regarding my choices and the procedure. I have been thrilled with the result of the cataract surgery. I was given an appointment very soon after the referral. I would however like to let you know how I felt the experience on the day of the operation could have been improved. Firstly I was not sent the Post Op information which would have been most helpful to read before the procedure. Secondly I got very cold in theatre and was given a blanket but it did take me ages to warm up. It would have been better to have been given a blanket before the procedure started. There is a lot of cold water being used which does add to the chill. Thirdly I was not told to bring sunglasses for the journey home or to bring analogies both of which I would very much appreciated as I lived over a hour away. On the journey home I became extremely uncomfortable. Finally the roof of my mouth and tongue got a little burnt I think by the coffee as they must have been a little bit anaesthetised still when I had the coffee. The coffee however i have to say was absolutely welcome and the best thing along with the toasted teacake. I found it very reassuring to have a telephone number to call which I did use. I also very much appreciate the phone call from the nurse a couple of days post op. I hope you find the above comments of use. I do not wish to criticise as overall it was an extremely good experience and I would and have already recommended Vision Scotland. ( I did tell my neighbour to ask for a blanket!)

Mr Barnick is an exceptionally charming, kind and talented surgeon. He listened carefully to all my medical concerns. Upon examination he diagnosed the problem and explained exactly where my prolapse was coming from and how it was affecting the bladder. Surgery was advised. I knew instantly that I had total confidence in him and elected to proceed. When my surgery had to be rescheduled ,as I became hospitalised with a serious blood condition, he liased with my haematologist and monitored my progress. The operation went smoothly due to his superb surgical skills. My prolapse has gone and the bladder has been repaired. I am now able to stand and walk without discomfort and pass urine normally. I will be forever grateful. Zoe his PA is delightful. She is incredibly efficient and extremely caring. Nothing was too much trouble and she helped me with my many queries before the operation. .

1. We were wrong footed by the entrance barrier, but luckily another patient was close to the entrance button. 2. Parking was tight - we had to park in the radiology section, but hoped that would be ok. 3. The surgery was wonderfully light and airy and spatially arranged in such a way that each patient could have space and privacy. 4. The staff i have spoken to on the phone were immensely welcoming and efficient, as were the ladies on the desk on arrival 5. The loos were wonderfully clean and airy. 6. Dr. Johnstone was most welcoming and sympathetic. I can't make the next step work, which is to review Dr. J. On only one visit, my experience was very positive. She was clearly listening to what i was saying, and made a very quick referral, for which I am very grateful.

I had a dental hygienist appointment. When it came to booking a further six monthly appointment I was asked to pay £35 in advance! This would be deducted from my bill in six months time. I declined to do this and cancelled my next appointment. I presume that at the next appointment I'd be asked yet again to pay £35 in advance, which basically means that this is just a way of charging a one off payment over and above the actual cost! I have never been asked to pay in advance for any private care, dental or otherwise. I think this is very sharp practice. By all means have a cancellation policy and charge the customer for not attending, but don't just take £35 well in advance! I may have to change my dental practice if this continues.

I have recently had two procedures within two months, plus outpatient appointments. All members of staff, from receptionist to nursing staff to consultants, were extremely polite, and nothing was too much trouble. I have had two separate consultants, and they were extremely knowledgeable and put me at ease, as I was quite nervous. Their secretaries were very friendly each time I rang through, and nothing was too much trouble. The outpatient department is very modern and spotless. I was very impressed and grateful that so many different eye examinations were performed on me. The in patient department is also spotless, and my meal after my operation was delicious!

From the very first consultation he was professional, reassuring, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which instantly put me at ease. Both occasions on visiting the practice have been fantastic. Having a fear of the dentist isn’t great, but the reassurance from the staff is absolutely second to none. Talking through the steps to give you an indication of what’s going on etc. checking in constantly to make sure everything is ok with the procedure taking place! The staff are professional and very friendly, the practice is probably one of the best I’ve ever visited. It doesn’t have a normal sterile dentist feel to it! Again a great experience for someone who isn’t particularly keen on visiting the dentist.

This was a streamlined procedure which was informative and accommodating at every point. The admitting process was thorough and welcoming. The surgical team under Mr Ieong were professional, friendly and reassuring. The surgery alleviated the chronic pain I had been suffering and this was evident even in the recovery room! I find Mr Ieong accurately knowledgeable and very personable. I would recommend him for any foot and ankle diagnosis and treatment. He has a wealth of experience to support this comment.

Honestly couldn’t fault this man, I’m autistic so obviously had a lot of questions relating to pilonidal disease which is what I saw him for and he took the time to clearly explain the answers to all my questions. First of all he done an exam of the scar and asked what we wanted and not what he suggested, we told him we wanted a definitive surgery done, then explained what he would do. Mr Kasem was very empathetic and reassuring after I found out I would have to have a mastectomy. I knew that I was in good hands and he has done a fantastic job. I initially had a terrible experience with another consultant and he reinstated my faith in getting treatment. Mr Kasem made sure all of my follow up appointments happened as quickly as possible, and 6 weeks after diagnosis I was having surgery.

Always very friendly, attentive, a well-stocked childrens waiting room. On this latest visit we did have a slightly bizzare situation where we arrived, were checked in, weighed and measured, and put into the waiting room. We then received a phonecall - from the next room - explaining that we were late for our appointment. They were very embarrassed and there was no harm at all. Funny though!

The Doctor spent time listening and acknowledged the struggles my son is experiencing! He was sympathetic and helped him enormously. Medication was discussed and explained fully.
