About Dr Matteo Lancioni
Dr Matteo Lancioni is a Consultant Cardiologist with specialist expertise in general cardiology, heart valve disease and advanced cardiac imaging. Since becoming a consultant in 2020, he has been committed to providing expert, personalised care, helping patients understand their heart health and feel confident about their treatment.
Dr Lancioni sees patients with a wide range of heart-related symptoms, including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations and other cardiovascular concerns. He has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of heart valve conditions, including mitral and aortic valve disease, using advanced imaging to ensure accurate diagnosis and guide the most appropriate treatment.
After graduating from the University of Pisa in Italy, Dr Lancioni completed his specialist training in cardiology before moving to London to undertake advanced fellowship training in cardiac imaging. He trained at leading centres including the Royal Free Hospital, University College London Hospital and Barts Heart Centre, developing expertise in the assessment of complex cardiovascular conditions using the latest imaging techniques.
Dr Lancioni has extensive experience in echocardiography, including transthoracic, stress and transoesophageal echocardiography. These advanced, non-invasive and minimally invasive imaging techniques allow him to assess heart structure and function in detail, supporting early diagnosis, treatment planning and long-term monitoring.
Known for his calm, approachable manner, Dr Lancioni believes in involving patients in every stage of their care. He takes time to explain diagnoses, answer questions and develop personalised treatment plans, ensuring patients feel informed, reassured and supported throughout their journey.

The actual entrance is not the black door at Number 29, which does not open, but a building around the back - a sign on the door with directions would help.
