Dr James Harrison is a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in general cardiology, with expertise in heart rhythm disorders and pacing, leading this service at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley and treats patients privately, including at London Bridge Hospital.
Dr Harrison studied at Cambridge University, undertaking clinical training at Oxford University, graduating in 2005. During his Cardiology training in London, he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship to undertake a PhD at St Thomas’ Hospital in cardiac MRI and electrophysiology. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and won national and international prizes for his research. Dr Harrison also performs cardiac MRI and CT studies and he also has a specialist interest in pre-operative cardiology and optimisation of patients for non-cardiac surgery.

Dr Harrison was a pleasure to deal with. I found him to be pragmatic but thorough in his investigations and appreciated the time he took to explain my symptoms and what might be causing them. I was seen quickly and efficiently, with my appointments following each other in quick succession which I greatly appreciated!

I consulted Dr Harrison recently for a possible irregular heartbeat. On initial consultation he was able to reassure me, answer clearly any questions I had and after further investigations was able to feedback my results over the phone promptly without the need for waiting for another face-to -face consultation. Thank you too to Dr Harrison’s PA who took care of the admin regarding this process. Immediate replies and quick turnaround made the whole worrying health episode a professional, caring and reassuring experience.
