I met with Mr Velayudham to be " signed off" post total hip operation. There was a short delay to my appointed time but understandable. I needed another Xray which was completed quickly as my surgeon wanted me to see the result of the surgery. Everything about my short stay at Horder absolutely satisfied me I had made the right choice. It was top notch, from the procedure itself to the support staff whose friendly professionalism made recovery all the sooner!! I can thoroughly recommend the Horder.
Exceptional and professional caring staff who made my stay worry free.
The operation was for a hip replacement. The initial visit and follow up were well organised and the reception facilities were very good. Plenty of seating but little waiting. The stay for the operation was very welcoming and the 2 day stay very pleasant. All was well organised. The room was pleasant with good facilities. The food was also excellent - although sometimes it was not immediately clear whether one needed to be ordering food for the day after intended discharge. Only comment is that at the outset, having received a copy of my GM's referral (from the GP), there was no response from the Horder Centre for a week or so and it was unclear to the novice whether I was supposed to take the initiative to start the process. In fact my daughter eventually rang the Horder Centre to start the ball rolling and get an initial appointment. Once the ball was rolling all was clear. The only other minor observation about the care was that, in the hours immediately after surgery, when advised to empty the bladder via a bottle, food was also produced at the same time without any hygienic wipes, or any way of washing hands, which one would prefer to do before touching food. A pack of hygienic wipes close to the bed would do the trick. One point. I was provided with a bag of pain killers etc. Apart from the blood thinning drug they are unused and still packaged. Can I return them to avoid waste?
I cannot fault the care and support given me during the visit. It gave me confidence to continue my rehabilitation at home.
I was very pleased with my treatment from The Horder Centre. The care I was given from booking to all post surgery appointments and calls were carried out with the upmost care and anytime I needed help or advice there was someone at the end of the phone. I would highly recommend the Horder Centre to anyone needing medical care.
I knew mr armitage was a brilliant surgeon so went with his recommendation to the horder centre Crowborough and I was well cared for with a wonderful friendly team
Great, but rooms need air-conditioning as it was unbearably hot and uncomfortable due to the heatwave
The Horder Centre is 100% recommended. All the staff make you feel safe and cared for. Even though surgery is quite daunting, I was treated with the utmost kindness. My surgeon Andrew Skyrme, is amazing, everything explained, feeling completely safe in his hands. The whole team is professional, kind, friendly, you couldn't ask for more.
