Dr Obi Jude Nzeako

Mr Obi Jude Nzeako is an experienced Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in all aspects of modern open and arthroscopic upper limb surgery. His practice encompasses joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures, sports injuries, rotator cuff repair, tendon disorders, shoulder instability, arthritis, fractures, tendon disorders and nerve compression syndromes. He is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of surgical care, and his clinical approach combines this with his friendly and inclusive manner. 

Mr Nzeako obtained his degree in Medicine in 2009 from the University of Manchester, where Orthopaedic electives at Yale University inspired him to pursue a career in Orthopaedics. Following this, he completed his training in London, and spent time training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital as well as Kings’ College Hospital. He completed specialist fellowships at the University of Toronto and Guy's & St Thomas, London, focussing on complex trauma and modern techniques in upper limb surgery. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He therefore has gained a vast array of specialist knowledge and expertise throughout his career, which informs his evidence-based approach to surgery. 

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Nzeako has a strong interest in healthcare innovation, digital technology and artificial intelligence. He has been invited to speak at national conferences on how emerging technologies and AI can improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. He has contributed to over 25 publications in his field and his research focuses on improving patient outcomes following shoulder and elbow surgery. Beyond surgery, he has a particular interest in sports performance, recovery and the use of wearable technologies and digital health tools to optimise musculoskeletal health and rehabilitation.

Additionally, he is enthusiastic about surgical education, and is an Honorary Lecturer at Kent and Medway Medical School.
