Overall, the journey for this process was simple. An initial visit to see what my eye sight was like and what procedures were available to me. I believe due to job related issues that I had to have LASEK. An appointment date was set up to have the procedure done. On the day. I arrived at location in HRI and was kindly directed by staff members to a closed off area of the wing where the equipment was, I was met by Mr Goel and two nurses who went over the procedure with again and explained everything that was going to happen in a simple way. The procedure itself took about 15 minutes and most of that was waiting for numbing drops to work. I didn’t feel a think when the actual procedure took place. After the procedure I have had multiple check ups, some with some hiccups due to the medication that was prescribed after but that was due to how my eyes were reacting to them. Steroid drops caused pressure issues in my eyes. After stopping using them I had no problems at all. I was off work for about a month with LASEK, although again, given a different job role could have probably gone back to work sooner. I’m now 6 months post surgery and my last eye check and appointment revealed that I have better than 20/20 vision now. Which I am buzzing about. The only issue I have with is some glare In the evening from car lights, but before the procedure I was informed that this is a minor side effect of it and tbh, I can deal with it and it very minor. Overall, Mr Goel and his assistant have been friendly, kind and extremely knowledgeable in there field of work. I spent some time before the procedure mulling over different options but I can happily say that Mr Goel was the correct option. If you have any doubt about who to chose for this eye procedure / surgery. I would 100% recommend Mr Goel.

Wow, what an amazing place with a holistic approach to recovery. Far from previous experiences that simply provide a detox and a few tools tacked on the end. Delamere provides any willing individual the opportunity to explore yourself and a way of life that can truly bring balance and happiness. The food was excellent, home cooked with minimal processed food, probably only the tofu as the vegetarian option was processed, along with bacon and sausage for breakfast. Chefs were very approachable and friendly, even gained some advice on what to cook at home. The overall environment was clean, tidy and well maintained. The liaison team were excellent and always on hand to support and guide when needed.The nursing team were also superb, always there to answer any medical questions in a compassionate way. The mentors provided clear direction without judgement or bias. My therapist was second to none and created a safe environment for me to discover myself, while always being there to catch me when I stumbled. All in all a life changing experience. I have left with a solid toolset and aftercare package that will steer me through a joyful life with my friends and family. Only negative was the insane temperature in the bedrooms…..bring some cool PJs.

Professor Jian Farhadi

Professor Farhadi performed a thigh flap breast reconstruction for me two years ago, and a follow up nipple reconstruction with fat transfer a year ago. While this is a more complex surgery with longer recovery than some, I couldn't be happier with the result. The breast feels and looks completely natural, and is a perfect match for my natural breast. The scar on my thigh has faded completely and is positioned in a way that is unnoticeable. I trust Professor Farhadi completely. He performed by original reconstruction in 2012, which was an implant that also looked great but unfortunately ruptured ten years later due to long term effects from radio therapy. There was no question in my mind of using another surgeon for the follow up procedure. He is a perfectionist and has an excellent eye. He also explains everything very clearly, which helped me make the decision for which route to take both times.

I can’t speak highly enough of Dr Kaur. She has the kindest manor of any doctor I’ve seen. She listens to what you say and you’re never dismissed. You’re able to have honest conversations and you’re treated as an equal. She took so much time to explain my options and go through the surgery process in detail. She even phoned me on a Saturday when I had a question about my surgery. I felt so cared for before, during and after the surgery and I really feel like she has my best interests at heart. She clearly cares about the quality of her patients lives and did everything within her power to improve the quality of mine. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.

I recently had a hysterectomy at this hospital the surgeon was brilliant but during my stay in the hospital I was appalled by how I was treated. Staff were friendly but some of them when I needed them ignored me. A specialist nurse from my consultant had to advocate for me. Upon discharge, one of my stitches had been left in which then went on to cause other issues. I was then chased severally for payment when I had made clear and provided authorisation codes from my insurer. I was not impressed with service from the hospital itself at all. But my consultant was brilliant.

Hope this review helps other people after tonsillectomy, take pain medication at regular intervals, rest for the first 2 weeks, Ice pack from Amazon and be careful when brushing your teeth, stay away from coughs and colds and do regular alcohol free mouthwashes 4 times a day. I had a bleed day 6 and was looked after by royal London (thank you nhs) I’m nearly 3 weeks post surgery now and feeling lots better and so happy to get rid of my horrible tonsils that caused me a lot of problems! I came in to see Urja after experiencing months of tightness in the body. I also had a chest infection a couple months before and it left me with a lot of tightness in my chest/lungs and I wasn’t able to breathe at full capacity. Immediately after my session, my body felt like it was 99% back to baseline and I could take a full deep breath again. Emotionally, I also felt so much more free and relieved.
