Mr Samit Ghosh is a consultant ENT surgeon based at The Highfield Hospital. His clinical interests include rhinoplasty, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, frontal sinus surgery, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, septal perforation surgery, skin lesions, and watery eye surgery (DCR). He takes a multidisciplinary approach and works alongside physicians in other specialties such as respiratory to deliver holistic treatment to his patients.
Mr Ghosh treats general ENT conditions as well as all common and complex sinus complaints including the frontal sinus. He treats not only sinusitis, but also watery eyes and non-cancerous tumours. He has also performed more than 800 septo-rhinoplasties and additionally treats referrals for complex and revision nasal reshaping surgery. He can also assess other surgical conditions such as septal perforations. He recently presented one of the largest series of repair techniques in the UK using a flap technique with a more than 85% closure success rate and a 95%improvement of symptoms.
Mr Ghosh has developed an interest in Cosmetic Nasal reshaping ( Nose Jobs) for which he follows a natural approach and provides a surgical plan after discussion with the patient. In addition Mr Ghosh has significant experience in nasal reconstruction after use of drugs such as Cocaine, and autoimmune disease.
In Mr Ghosh's Nasal practice, he also has a large paediatric practice, and offers paediatric sinus surgery and functional septoplasty and septorhinoplasty where assessed to be appropriate, and does operate on younger children to improve quality of life and Facial development.
Mr Ghosh also performs pinnaplasty (adults and children), skin lesion excision, and scar revision including keloid removal.
Mr Ghosh gained his medical qualifications from the University of Liverpool in 1998. He trained in the UK as well as Cape Town, South Africa where he trained in major head and neck surgery and rhinology surgery. Following this, he was appointed as a substantive consultant in 2009.
Mr Ghosh has a major interest in Medical education and is the Training Programme Director for Specialist training in ENT for North West England. Furthermore he is the chair of the National Association of Training Programme Directors for the UK. He runs and teaches on national courses for training surgeons and is in collaborative research.

Mr Ghosh carried out surgery to a large septal perforation along with a rhinoplasty. In pre consultation was very friendly and professional and put me at ease. On day of surgery all went well.
