Review for Podiatrist Consultant Liam Stapleton I have been a patient of Liam Stapleton for several years, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Liam is consistently professional, attentive, and genuinely thorough. He always takes the time to listen carefully, explains everything clearly, and makes sure you fully understand both the problem and the treatment options. What really sets him apart is how deeply he thinks about each case rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. He looks at issues from multiple angles, not just the painful area itself. He considers overall functionality, gait, posture, and the geometry of movement, and how all of these interact and impact the body. This holistic and biomechanical approach has made a huge difference to my outcomes over the years. You never feel rushed, dismissed, or treated like a number. Liam is thoughtful, analytical, and genuinely committed to finding the root cause of problems rather than just treating symptoms. I actually did not get to use the facilities in the private wing of Charing Cross Hospital, as I was seen in neurophysiology on level three of the NHS departments. The only time I had to go up to the 15th floor was to get two forms, stamped and provide my pre-authorisation number that meant getting in a crowded lift and riding up to the 15th floor, which took a very long time as the lift stopped on nearly every floor. Then I had to go back down to level three for tests. It was actually quite stressful for someone with my health conditions to do this, and to be expected to do this administration as the patient!. The waiting area in the NHS department was not relaxing, it was very hot, no natural light was had limited/poor ventilation and the receptionist was quite rude. The medical staff were more polite. When I pay for private healthcare, I prefer to stay in the private department than in the crowded NHS areas. I gather on this occasion the tests were not available in the private wing, but perhaps another hospital where the consultant worked would’ve been able to accommodate. I was not informed that the tests would be in the NHS department.

My care at this clinic has been outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone needing expert psychiatric support for complex trauma. The service is psychiatry-led, with the consultant coordinating treatment plans and supervising input from psychology, occupational therapy, group therapy and trauma modalities including EMDR, DBT, CBT and embodied psychotherapy. This ensured that care was coherent rather than fragmented. I initially attended four in-person sessions per week and have now safely transitioned to monthly. The team have specialist expertise in workplace bullying, institutional power dynamics and identity-related trauma, which is unusual to find. The level of understanding and clinical leadership has made a meaningful difference to my recovery, and I could not recommend the service more highly.

I recently had a consultation with Dr Tan, and I was truly impressed by the level of care she provided. She showed exceptional compassion and empathy, listened carefully to every concern, and addressed each point thoroughly and individually. No question felt rushed or unwelcome. This review honestly doesn’t do justice to the standard of service we received. I left the appointment feeling completely reassured and confident that I was in the safest hands. Speaking with her felt like talking to someone I had known for years—she was patient and so attentive. Whenever something wasn’t clear, she took the time to explain it fully, even using drawings to help us understand. A service like that will never be forgotten, thank you so much!

My son is coming to the end of his treatment for Pectus Excavatum and is pleased with the results having used the vacuum bell for almost two years. Mr Hunt has always been very honest with him and we knew from the start that correcting a 2.6cm dip was not going to happen because of his age (16yrs). However, my son is delighted with his 1cm improvement and for him it has made a difference and he is very grateful that he was accepted to be treated by Mr Hunt. My son is now 18yrs and knows that it is unlikely that his chest will improve further but he is going to finish the two year treatment plan and then start to wind down wearing the vacuum bell. He wears it at night for 8 hours which has worked well for him.

Steve is excellent. Personable and very professional and clearly knows his stuff. He operated on our son following a shoulder dislocation playing rugby. Throughout the process, Steve was clear with the surgical options and very thorough in his explanations, particularly understanding with the emotions of a teenager and his desperation to be back on the pitch again. He has a friendly manner and was always quick to answer extra questions we had between consultations. He did an excellent surgical job on our son and we’d have no hesitation in recommending him. The waiting area had few chairs and not enough for the people waiting. The people around there that gave me paperwork and told me where to wait, were polite and helpful. The appointment with the consultant was really distressing, I couldn't ask questions and didn't discussed with me the plan, just set up steps without getting me involved on her treatment plan. This experience was very negative from what I expected when you go to a professional asking for advice and reviewing if your body is working well. From the first appointment to my last Mr Jayanthi showed care and compassion and I finally felt like someone was listening and wanted to help resolve the issues I was having. I was scheduled in to have surgery a few weeks later and he made me feel so at ease and talked through the procedure and calmed my nerves before going to theatre. After the operation he came to make sure everything was ok and explained what the findings were after the op and made sure I was happy with everything before being discharged. The care I received was first class and would highly recommend Mr Jayanthi.

The treatment I received at the Matrix Eye Clinic was excellent from both Mr Guy Smith and his first class team. The results from the cataract operation in both eyes is sensational. My eyesight is significantly improved, the length, the accuracy and the intensity of the colour are all enhanced. I am absolutely delighted. Before I had the operation I was considering exchanging our television for a new model because I was having difficulty in reading small print and the scene was blurred. Now I can enjoy watching. Amazing! I have no hesitation in recommending Matrix Eye Clinic.

My surgery took place there and had to stay overnight due to vertigo and dizziness. The hospital was friendly, new and pristine. The nursing staff outstanding as well as of course the medical team. I had dinner and breakfast and it was also healthy and delicious. Yesterday I returned to have the dressing removed and it was equally good. If any criticism would be to the pharmacy with a 30minute wait to get my prescription and also despite being a Bupa hospital not having the availity to charge Bupa for medication- I am under Bupa Global and in other Bupa hospitals this is the case.

So on the whole l was very pleased with his professionalism and beside manner.
