In theatre, I had to say I couldn’t open my eyes fully as the plastic covering placed over my eyes was rucked and digging into my previously operated rt. eye.. This was then corrected. A large amount of iodine was instilled to my left eye ( later discovered it was all in my hair ), and I said it felt so painful that I was sure my eye was not anaesthetised. I was then told I would have lots more anaesthetic drops which I believe happened. But I felt the eye speculum being put in and the sensation, not pain, of a tiny curved cut to the nose side of my eyes and then the sensation moved to the opposite side of my eye , where I had a sort of digging sensation, no pain, for a couple of seconds. No further discomforts or sensations felt, just extreme relief to be over the ordeal. However good communication throughout and attention paid to what I was experiencing. My eye was completely comfortable afterwards and my recovery was first class for which I am most grateful.

I was admitted in an emergency under a consultant physician. I had an infection with dehydration.The admission procedure was very calming and welcoming.. The nursing staff were so friendly and my initial care was exactly what was needed to start my treatment and recovery. The consultant had sent a plan of action which was put into action immediately. All very professional, no fuss and reassuring. My room was very comfortable, all I needed for my needs. Catering was similarly a high standard, good menu and choice as to my appetite and ability to eat. All the staff were great and responded very quickly if needed. I was very impressed with my care and the attention I received. The attitude of everyone was just what was required to get me better.

I chose to see Dr Jayaseelan having read her biography on the BUPA app. From the moment we met and Dr Dipa introduced herself, I felt completely relaxed and happy to be in her care. We discussed how the condition had developed, the requirements that I had in terms of her opinion as to my fitness to return to work and ongoing treatment and medication. Throughout the consultation, absolutely everything was explained clearly and in plain language. I really can’t tell you how professional the whole experience was and I left the hospital in no doubt whatsoever that I was in excellent hands. Finally, just over an hour later, I received a written report of the consultation plus a letter that I’d requested for employment purposes.

We visited Dr. Deepa Srinivasan on 9th July for a scan. I am the husband of patient Y. Patel. We were very worried about our baby’s head size, but Dr. Deepa checked my wife carefully and explained everything clearly. She confirmed the situation, told us what further tests might be needed, explained both the benefits and risks, and also gave us helpful ideas on what to do next. What we appreciated most was the way she kept our morale high, especially for my wife, who was anxious. She was very kind, patient, and supportive. Even though I am writing this review a little late (because I saved the link), I want to honestly say that we were very happy with her care and guidance during the scan.

I attended HSSH for a hip examination under anaesthetic with a local anaesthetic injection with Professor Griffin. I cannot fault the administration in the run up to the procedure, or the care and attention that I had before, during and after. All the of staff, from the reception team to the team involved in the procedure itself - Prof Griffin, Dr Kazmi (anaesthetist), Rebecca (physio), Remmi (nurse) + all the theatre staff, made it efficient and comfortable. They also accommodated my request to stay a little longer than was necessary, until my partner could get to the hospital to escort me home until, which was much appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use HSSH again.

After following the advice given, even within 24 hours, real progress/ improvements have been made. I am so, so glad I got in touch with this clinic. The lady I had an appointment with was so, so knowledgeable. She had the answers for everything which was such a relief after spending 3 months trying other nutrients and supplements and not getting anywhere. The stress of that was getting pretty unbearable , but now I have a clear path of recommendations to follow. I can’t stress how grateful I am. Things are finally looking up! Such a relief! The spire Elland was a lovely, clean hosptial. My room had recently been renovated, which meant it felt clean and comfortable. The staff were all nice, regularly bringing me hot drinks and heat packs for my symptoms. A particular shoutout to the team conducting my anaesthetic, I was quite overwhelmed/concerned and they really supported me and put me at ease. I would definitely consider spire elland again for my treatment.
