Dr. Suman Paul

Dr Suman Paul is a Consultant Respiratory Physician at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the COPD services. With over a decade of specialist experience in respiratory medicine, he is dedicated to helping patients manage chronic lung conditions and improve their quality of life.

Dr Paul trained extensively in both India and the UK, earning his MBBS from Medical College, Kolkata, and completing specialist respiratory training in North-West England. He further enhanced his expertise with an advanced fellowship in interventional pulmonology in Italy and holds the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine. A Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), he is also a published author in peer-reviewed journals and serves as Principal Investigator for an upcoming COPD treatment trial commencing in November 2025.

Known for his patient-centred approach, Dr Paul prioritises listening carefully to concerns, explaining conditions in accessible terms, and offering evidence-based treatment options. He works closely with patients and their GPs to develop personalised care plans and ensures individuals are actively involved in decisions about their health.

He treats a wide range of respiratory conditions, including COPD, asthma, chronic cough, and lung cancer, and is passionate about empowering patients with educational resources to better understand and manage their conditions.
