Dr Somnath Kumar is a respected senior consultant cardiologist based at Royal Preston and Chorley hospitals and the Lancashire Cardiac Centre in Blackpool where he performs angioplasty and stent implantation. He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of adult cardiology and provides a variety of cardiac investigations and therapies.

He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and was the former clinical lead for the Lancashire and Cumbria Cardiac Network.

Good overall. just a bit of a faff with my first appointment booking which got moved around and then trying to get the scans done at SPIRE in Manchester.
I found Dr Kumar to be a friendly approachable gentleman. Not only that but he listened and was very helpful. He looked at the big picture not just the one I was there for. I would recommend him.
My overall treatment has been excellent. Dr Kumar explained in detail about my medical condition. The stent procedure was very successful and I now feel much better regarding angina symptoms. I am awaiting results of a blood test to ascertain if I need an increase in statin medication re high cholesterol. Dr Kumar has sent reports to my GP and has now discharged me. I would like to express my gratitude to him.
Dr Kumar was friendly, listened to any questions I had and explained everything in a way that was easily understood.
His attention to detail was commendable and was concerned with results associated with respiratory issues and provided me with a referral to an appropriate specialist. He is one consultant I would recommend.
Overall experience was Fantastic. Dr Kumar listened to all symptoms from last year & this year. I’m looking forward to him helping me get better very soon.
Very easy to use the private insurance. Very friendly and welcoming staff on reception. During consultation I felt listened to and an active participant in my health with all the options clearly discussed and explained.
