Dr Sanjoy Chowdhury

Dr Sanjoy Chowdhury is an internationally certified Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist (Heart Rhythm Specialist) practicing in the North-West of England. He completed his clinical cardiology training in the North-West UK, award-winning doctoral research (PhD) at the University of Manchester and a prestigious clinical electrophysiology fellowship in Ontario, Canada. He was elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP Edin).

Dr Chowdhury holds internationally recognised certifications in cardiac electrophysiology and complex device therapy, including European Heart Rhythm Association certification in Electrophysiology (ECES) and Heart Rhythm Society USA (IBHRE) certification in Electrophysiology (CEPS-A) and Cardiac Devices (CCDS). He is currently working as a Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre (Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), also serveing as the Cardiology Research Lead, actively contributing to clinical trials and pioneering advancements in heart rhythm management.

Dr Chowdhury's expertise includes:

• Cardiac Electrophysiology & Arrhythmia Management: Comprehensive evaluation and catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation (AF), atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ectopic beats and ventricular arrhythmias; with consistent nationally-audited safety and efficacy profiles.
• Complex Cardiac Devices: Implantation and management of cardiac pacemakers including conduction-system pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD), biventricular pacemakers (CRT-P/CRT-D).
• General & Diagnostic Cardiology: Diagnosis and medical management of heart failure, syncope (blackouts), chest pain, palpitations, and cardiovascular risk factors including sudden death risk assessments.
• Cardiology Clinical Research: Directing clinical research trials and pioneering novel arrhythmia treatment, catheter ablation and cardiac device techniques.
