About Dr V J Karthikeyan
Dr. V J Karthikeyan is a consultant cardiologist specialising in interventional cardiology. He completed his undergraduate medical degree in India at the University of Bangalore in 1999 before relocating to the UK to continue his training and practice. On completion of his general medical training and a higher research degree in cardiovascular medicine in the West Midlands, he continued to add to his knowledge and skillset by completing a structured training programme in cardiology in Mersey Deanery, including high intensity sub-specialty training in percutaneous coronary intervention.
Since qualifying as a consultant in 2013, Dr. Karthikeyan has continued to add to his interventional skills in all cardiology settings, while continuing to manage patients with a wide range of cardiology problems. In addition, he has been able to introduce services such as the Primary PCI programme to the population of North Wales. He is also active in research and has made a significant contribution to the expansion of research in cardiovascular medicine as well as introduction of clinical governance and risk management policies in the cardiac catheterisation labs.
Dr. Karthikeyan is dedicated to professional development and works hard to ensure that he maintains up to date with scientific progression in his field. He prides himself on his dedication to his practice and his patients, ensuring that his care is patient-centred and that he is able to tailor his care towards the individual needs of each of his patients.

This gentleman took care of me and did a procedure as soon as I arrived at the hospital. The level of care, compassion and obvious dedication to helping others was clearly present.
