Even though the visit to the Spencer wing was a pleasant And the waiting time for my appointment that day. I am disappointed With the outcome. I thought the appointment was to review my MRI for my neck ,shoulder and back But was informed by the consultant that was only for my neck and shoulder which has improved with physio and rest I asked about my back And the lower back pain that I have been experiencing and advised at times this was very painful and preventing me from doing activities. I was informed by the consultant that the GP had only referred me for my neck and shoulder and I had to expect some deterioration at my age. I have read the MRI results and had gone over them with my GP and she had advised me that my back had deteriorated and this is one of the reasons why she was referring me I will also be taking this up with my GP. The MRI was full images was with the consultant and he could have just reviewed them and even if I needed a second referral he could’ve given me some indication of what was going on as I was there in front of him at the time. I will now going back to my GP who will do another MRI another referral I will wait another 4 to 5 months to have review .This has a significant impact on my day-to-day living activities and also my work . Working in the Nhs for the last 35 years it is no wonder that we’re in crisis. This is just a waste of time , resources and Money..

Was advised by the NHS consultant that I would require a TURP procedure to rectify my diagnosis of enlarged prostate. I met Prof Persad for a private consultation and he advised that Aquablation was a safer procedure, the procedure was undertaken at the Spire hospital in Bristol requiring a 2 day stay in hospital. I had no pain after the procedure which I was advised was successful, initial improvement was evident however my flow did seem that it was still restricted, I was getting some discomfort in my stomach which I believe was due to my bladder not totally emptying fully. 2 weeks after the procedure I passed a large fleshy object which was a shock to stay the least, I had however been passing small objects since leaving hospital. After passing the large object my flow improved beyond all recognition I stopped having discomfort in the stomach. I cannot believe how successful this procedure has been and my quality of life has improved considerably. The quality of care provided by the hospital and Prof Persad and his staff has been exceptional. I would recommend Aquablation to anyone who has been diagnosed with enlarged prostate, its pain free and the outcomes of the procedure have exceeded my expectations

Miss Kothari saw me promptly for a symptom which was particularly worrying due to a separate early breast cancer diagnosis two years ago. Her secretary was so helpful in easing my concern by ensuring I was seen quickly. Miss Kothari is a genuinely kind and sympathetic person with a lovely manner as well as being an excellent surgeon with a good team. She eased any embarrassment during investigations and provided very clear and detailed follow-up letters. She explained my procedure and the findings clearly face to face also. In addition, she was very calming on the actual day of the procedure. Fortunately, the results of my procedure were benign and Miss Kothari was reassuring in explaining this to me. She is a genuinely warm person whose focus in the patient, which made the process less stressful than it might have been. If you wish to see a female surgeon as I did, then I would thoroughly recommend Miss Kothari.

It's early days as I had complex cataract removal done on the 23rd July. I was told this could be difficult. Mr Khan saw me post operation to say he was happy to proceed. On the day, again we spoke about the risks involved which is not normal for straight forward cataract surgery. I had previously had 2 corneal grafts, so risky. Mr khan told me to relax and let him do the hard work.. One week on, nearly. I am amazed how much vision I have back. The fact I have had corneal grafts done means my sight will never be perfect but the improvement is massive.. He was calm, collected and made me feel as ease. Still early for me as graft could reject but medication prescribed is stopping the chances of that happening. I really can't thank Mr Khan enough for his skill, dedication, especially with a difficult case. I have no hesitation in saying to anyone, trust him. Thanks to him and his team who are super efficient.

He was professional and reassuring during the consultations and otherwise generous with his time, including answering my queries and providing information regarding the options by phone when I needed further advice. His calm and confident approach helped to put my mind at ease and made the experience so much better. All ran smoothly and everyone I saw was very professional (front desk, nurses, mole scan operator). Waiting room was particularly busy and there weren't seats for everyone, although I did have one. I achieved everything I had hope to achieve in my consultation with Dr Lacy who was great. A minor comment but I received a text message to complete this survey at 6.10am today - waking me up (my phone is on given my elderly father and children abroad). Perhaps the timing of that automatic reminder could be adjusted to a more appropriate time eg 8am? I am normally up around 6am but for various reasons hoped to lie in a bit longer today!

The consulting rooms were modern, spacious and new. Disappointed that there is no parking outside the building unless you have a disabled badge. The NCP carpark really seems a stretch when someone has issues with their eyes. The receptionist was welcoming and warm. There was also one gentleman there (maintenance), he was very helpful also.
