About Mr Javier Moraleda
Mr Moraleda is a consultant ENT, who can give expert treatment and diagnosis to general ENT problems. He is currently situated in South East London at University Hospital Lewisham.
During his medical career, he was one of the early adaptors of the minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery, resulting in the prevention of morbidity often caused by non-endoscopic approaches. He regularly performs surgery for chronic ear disease and performs reconstructions of the middle ear.
He has a particularly keen interest in dizziness and vertigo. He has developed a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of these with specialist links with colleagues that specialise in audiovestibular medicine as well as vestibular rehabilitation therapy. Additionally, ear pressure and Eustachian tube dysfunction are of interest to Mr Moraleda. He has implemented new techniques for the treatment of these conditions including balloon dilatation. Moreover, he regularly performs outpatient appointments for grommets and intratympanic steroid injections for acute ear pathologies.

Mr Moraleda is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham in South East London.
His training focused mainly in problems related to the ear. He has visited several international hospitals like Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and completed two Felllowships in the UK. One in Neurotology at the University Hospital Hallamshire (Sheffield) and another in Skull Base Ear Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' (London).
He has been one of the early adopters of minimal invasive endoscopic ear surgery, avoiding the morbidity of the non-endoscopic approaches. He also performs regularly surgery in chronic ear disease and middle ear reconstruction including otosclerosis.
Mr Moraleda has achieved a PhD involving research into stem cells of the middle ear and has done research on Bone Conduction Hearing aids, tinnitus and vertigo; about which he has lectured and written extensively both nationally and internationally.
He is currently the head of the Vertigo and Balance Unit in University Hospital Lewisham.
