I recently saw Mr Faz Pakarian for my annual pelvic floor examination. I like to have a yearly check-up to make sure my prolapse has not progressed, as well as to discuss menopause and the options available for vaginal atrophy. What I really appreciate about Mr Pakarian is that he takes the time to listen and explain everything clearly. I had previously struggled to use vaginal creams, but with his advice and guidance, I have been able to understand the different options and make informed choices about my own care. Having health anxiety, these appointments can be quite daunting for me, but he always makes me feel comfortable and reassured. He never rushes the examination and explains his findings carefully afterwards, which gives me confidence and peace of mind. I am extremely grateful for his professionalism, honesty and patience. He genuinely listens to your concerns, gives you choices and offers his professional advice without ever making you feel pressured. I feel very fortunate to have found a gynaecologist I trust completely.

I didn't have the best start with the nurses stabbing my arms 3x times each to try and get my blood sample, and then they lost it after it to boot and asked me to come in and retake it. The tests were also bloods that I had taken before and were accessible via my GP, but I was made to retake them. My message about wanting to discharge was also not forwarded to the team as I was told, so I was left to do this admin myself. I live 20 miles away and the department didn't give me a lot of confidence unfortunately due to these experiences, and ultimately I didn't want to be stressing myself out with travel etc. I felt it was better to discharge.

A few years ago, I had an MRI for a shoulder injury at One Hatfield. I was told the results and treatment at the same visit. However, I had an ankle MRI for a ligament injury on Monday and on Friday I am still waiting for the results. I needed the information this week in order to make a decision about travelling abroad for an imminent active holiday. I didn't realise when I booked the appointment that I would be waiting several days for the results. It may be worth some patients checking when they make the appointment when results are available and advice about how to manage an injury.

I was seen promptly and found the scan comfortable and easy. Occasionally when the nurse put pressure on my leg I felt pain. I didn't know if this was normal or indicated a problem. I found the discussion later with the doctor quite overwhelming. There was so much information about the procedure which I found hard to process. I was shocked to learn that the whole process would take 6 to 9 months! I feel it would be helpful to have a further discussion with a doctor to air all my questions and anxieties before committing to treatment.
