It is extremely unpleasant being treated as a cash cow. I had diagnostics for cataracts at Bath St on 18 December 2025. It seemed organised and the consultant, Mr Rajesh Deshmukh (RD), answered my questions and so did his practice manager Paula Jessup (PJ). I subsequently asked for written information on the kind of lenses RD recommended and I had agreed to. They are EROV lenses. When I asked for it, PD's response was that RD had talked to me, I said I couldn't remmber everything and my eyes were dilated so I couldn't see information he showed me on his phone. The written information was not provided. in advance of the surgery. PJ directed me to RD's website. The information on the website writes briefly on product benefits, but doesn't explain how they work. I had bilateral cataract surgery on 2 February at New Cavendish. St. Thgere was no explanation, written or verbal, of the process, eg pre-med, med, timing of procedure, rest afterwards. (There is a very brief outline in PD's email of timing). People came and did things to me as the 'animal for slaughter'. Before the procedure, I was given a paper form to fill in for registration. I had already done this at Bath St. Surely the information is on the system. I needed to find my BUPA number and authorisation code again, GP Practice etc. I also had received a pre-procedure call when this information could have been checked etc. For several days, I couldn't read the written instructions provided after the procedure. A nurse did discuss them however I hope it is understandable that I didn't remember all of them. Additionally I couldn't read the numbers on the eye drops packing for several days. The second bullet point on the instructions says 'your vision will be blurry for the rest of the day and possibly the next week'> This is repeated as the 7th bullet point on the instructions on the second page. The instructions have not been prepared with this in mind. On the first page, the instructions also says if you feel any pain or discomfort in the eyes etc please call the clinical helpline number above. The number is not on the document. On the second page, last bullet it says, '....If you vision (there is a typo it should say your vision) becomes significantly more blurred etc, please contact your consultant. On the phone PD, said if you think you have an infection go straight to A&E. All of this is unclear. Overall the instructions are presented in an illogical and careless way. The day after my surgery PD phoned around 6.30 pm to ask about how I was. I would suggest this is too late in the day for a recovering patient, and the instructions say ' we would like you to go home and take it easy'. She also said she would send a prescription for further drops to my GP practice. On Thursday, I phoned to let her know that the GP Practice said they haven't received them. Her response was, if you have received them, they have. Fortunately I had taken a printout of the prescription to my GP surgery and they logged it into the system and have actioned. I do not think the response from PD was helpful and it could be called defensive. There appears to be no-one who takes responsibility for the patient and ensures that they are looked after.

Steph was responsive and adjusted exercises where necessary but generally this was not needed as she pitched the pace and level of activity to be suitably challenging. Steph was goal orientated, encouraging and solution focused. It felt like I had a clear pathway to recovery and that Steph was really committed to my well-being and focused on helping me get the best outcomes. The centre have a range of treatments available including massage, podiatry and Pilates classes so that I could benefit from a holistic approach to my injuries. Steph has explained things well to me as we have gone along so that I have understood the rationale which I have really appreciated. Her expertise and care have been a huge positive during a difficult time. Thank you to Steph and all the team, I would highly recommend The Medical.

Hi My time with glenda was superb , since the start of my sessions i was greeted with great compassion. Glenda has a great ability to dig up issues that made me feel i was in the right place. When i was diagnosed with depression ,anxiety ,ptsd and finally adhd glenda started with my adhd issues first which we worked together to finally understand my feelings and also understand who i was . Glenda has really helped me with talking about my depression in a big way as i thought it was just normal to feel sucidal all the time and thinking real bad things in my mind. I have always known there was something not quite right since when i was young but again i thought it was normal but glenda taught me to understand that things i did and have done over the years were not so normal . I felt i was in good hands with glenda and like to thanks her again for helping me at such a bad time in my life , and if anyone else in this world needs that help glenda is there to help. I am now in a better place

Professor Akolekar has been absolutely Fantastic at every appointment all the way throughout our pregnancy. I was really struggling with anxiety in this pregnancy following recurrent miscarriages, and I have never felt more looked after, which has really helped me to be able to enjoy this pregnancy, knowing we have a fantastic consult looking after our baby. Appointments are always on time and very detailed, time is always made to answer any questions fully and I always leave feeling confident and reassured. Dr. Mohssen Chabok

My first consultation with Dr Chabok was in April 2025. He performed an angiography in May, and rather than putting a stent in at the time of the angiography, explained the two options that I had for further treatment. He was of the opinion that a bypass was a better long term solution for me and recommended the surgeon that did the procedure in June. My last follow up consultation was a few days ago. I found Dr Chabok to be very polite, patient, sympathetic and articulate. He answered all my questions in a clear understandable manner. I am fortunate that I have a cardiologist that I will always refer to, and recommend him whole heartedly. Pun intended.

I was a bit nervous on this surgery because of other people’s stories but my experience was so smooth! Everyone was lovely and explained it so clearly to me, the surgery was so quick and I’m barely in any discomfort, and more importantly during the surgery Mr Adeel made sure to watch my teeth (veneers) which was a lovely touch as working in that area both the surgeon and anaesthesiologist it’s very difficult I can imagine! But to still take the time to be careful around them which was another worry of mine so all round cannot fault the surgery or the entire experience. Although the appointment wasn't satisfactory for me because the doctor couldn't give me a second opinion on my back and neck pain since his specialty is lower extremities, he sent me for updated MRI exams so he could give me a responsible and accurate second opinion on my knee and ankle. I emailed the doctor and am waiting for him to reply with his diagnosis from the previous appointment so I can provide my employer with the information they need to continue helping me with the MRI costs and get positive results that will allow me to go to work without any health risks. For each of the initial consultation, surgery and post-op follow-up Mr Crabtree provided an excellent service, instilling confidence through friendly yet consise communication. My hernia repair operation was very much a success and my speedy recovery I believe was down to the surgical skills of Mr Crabtree. It would have been nice for me to have had a brief meeting with Mr Crabtree on the day (the post-operation) to discuss a concern. That said, the nurse looking after me was able to convey that all had gone well and that no complications were envisaged.

Tiziana explained everything well, directed me to other resources to further inform my decision and gave me the time I needed. The surgery itself went really well; post surgery Tiziana and her team reviewed me regularly when I was an inpatient; and my recovery was as expected and I have healed really well. I couldn’t be more grateful that this complex reconstruction option was available to me and I’m so thankful to Tiziana and her team for their skill and care.

Mr. Hobby always gives me the best advice and has managed to avoid operating on my hands by offering steroid injections. As a pianist, I always have to think long and hard about any kind of intervention but the latest injections have made a huge difference.
