Nurses and clinicians very friendly and made the experience much more bearable (Dom, Karen, Svetlana and Maria - thank you!) Main issue with my experience was inability to get basic medication required for pain relief post-surgery. Was told my procedure would be finished and we could leave around noon. But my pain medication (codeine and paracetamol, so nothing complicated!) had to be couriered from a local pharmacy. We waited over 4 hours for it to arrive and it never came. In the meantime my numbing had worn off and I was in a lot of pain - my partner had to go and ask the nurses if there was any spare codeine I could have while I waited. We eventually gave up and went home after many hours wasted, and had to pay for a private prescription at a pharmacy near home. Appreciate delay was with pharmacy and nurses did their best to get updates, but this system is not working.

The facility itself was impressively clean, which made me feel much more at ease, and I was pleasantly surprised that the food was actually great! After an accident I dislocated my finger and it healed with a severe contracture that was impeding my daily life. I saw Mr. Al-Tawil who recommended first non-surgical interventions with great specialists. Unfortunately these didn't work and he did a volar plate release surgery for my hand injury. The result was very good. I've regained 80% of my extension, no longer have any pain, and the scar has disappeared only a couple months later. He was very thorough about all the pros and cons throughout my journey and I felt very prepared. He's a great surgeon.

I’m a quite nervous patient and I always inform staff of that plus the fact that I’m on blood thinners! The nurse putting in the cannula took ages and it felt sore! However as I don’t look at the needle going in I didn’t realise what was happening until another nurse saw through the window and came rushing in and pulled the rubber tourniquet off my arm! I looked down and saw that blood was gushing down my arm! I said OMG and was shocked and it sent me into stress
