Although the consultant is extremely professional, knowledgeable and clearly very experienced, I have found the overall appointment experience quite difficult. There always seems to be a sense of urgency and a manic rush during the consultation, which can make it feel as though I am running a marathon rather than having a proper medical appointment. It appears that less than 10 minutes may be allocated for each patient, which does not provide sufficient time to ask questions, understand the information being given, digest the discussion, or properly explore the situation. At my most recent appointment, I also experienced a wait of over an hour. When I queried this with the secretary, I was simply told that the consultant was “a little late”, which I found rather undermining given the length of the delay. I was also told that the booked appointment time does not necessarily mean that the consultation will take place at that time, as there may be other considerations that need to be taken into account. I completely appreciate that medical clinics can be unpredictable and that urgent matters or other clinical considerations may arise. However, there needs to be a balance between accommodating those circumstances and respecting patients who have booked appointments and made arrangements around the scheduled time. On this occasion, I was left with the impression that individuals without appointments may have been accommodated at short notice, potentially resulting in patients with pre-booked appointments having their allocated time significantly compromised. I would therefore strongly encourage the clinic to review how appointments are scheduled and how much time is realistically allocated to each patient. Patients should have sufficient time to ask questions and understand their consultation without feeling rushed, while also having reasonable confidence that their booked appointment time will be respected. My comments are not a reflection of the consultant’s professionalism or medical knowledge, which I have found to be excellent. They are specifically about the organisation, time management and patient experience surrounding the consultations.

Mr Robert Grounds

I cannot recommend Mr Robert Grounds highly enough. I went to see him after months of persistent dizziness that had begun to have a huge impact on my everyday life. By that point I had spent a long time trying to understand what was happening to me and, despite numerous appointments and investigations, still had no real explanation. From my first appointment, Mr Grounds was incredibly kind, thorough and reassuring. He listened properly to what I was describing and, most importantly, I felt that he genuinely believed me. After investigating and ruling out an inner-ear cause for my symptoms, he was the first person to suggest that what I was experiencing could be vestibular migraine. That suggestion ultimately proved to be enormously important. It gave me a direction at a time when I felt completely lost and led me towards the specialist treatment that has made such a difference to my life. When you have been unwell for a long time with symptoms that other people cannot see, being listened to and taken seriously means more than you can imagine. Mr Grounds did exactly that. I will always be extremely grateful to him for his kindness, his expertise and for helping point me in the right direction when I needed it most.

The support team at the clinic are exceptional and deserve recognition for the important role they play in the overall standard of care. They are consistently helpful, responsive and compassionate, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble. Whether it is arranging appointments, helping with prescriptions, responding to questions or resolving the inevitable administrative issues that can arise, they always do their best to find a solution and regularly go above and beyond. What is particularly noticeable is how efficiently everything is managed behind the scenes. That operational support makes a real difference to the patient experience and enables the clinicians to focus on delivering the highest possible standard of care. Just as importantly, everything is handled with kindness and a genuinely human touch. When dealing with mental health, that sensitivity and understanding really matter. A fantastic team who make you feel supported throughout, and a hugely important part of the excellent care the clinic provides. I’m incredibly grateful for everything they do.

My experience at Nuffield Hospital was excellent from the moment I arrived. Everything was extremely well organised and the whole hospital had a calm, comfortable and reassuring atmosphere. Every member of staff I came into contact with was friendly, professional and genuinely caring. I was kept informed throughout my stay, never felt rushed and always felt that there was someone there if I needed anything. The hospital itself was spotlessly clean, my room was comfortable and the standard of care both before and after my operation was excellent. Nobody particularly wants to spend time in hospital, but the team at Nuffield made the whole experience as pleasant and stress-free as it possibly could be. I felt very well looked after from arrival through to discharge and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them. A very easy 5 stars from me and a big thank you to everyone who looked after me.

I needed an urgent procedure and due to previous far from perfect experiences with the NHS was considering a private solution. Dr Diana presented a credible alternative solution which I opted for. I’m glad I did. The outcome has been a complete success and throughout a 6 month process Dr. Diana has provided care far beyond anything I’ve ever experienced from the NHS and always with a smile and a detailed explanation of what is going on. 5 months on from my partial knee replament at Spire Little Ason by Mr Arbuthnot: Fully mobile, Have done some extensive walks recently, up to five miles through varied countryside. No pain from the knee but ocaisionally some calf muscle pain afer a long day on my feet. Resolved by a restfull evening. Some lower leg swelling at the end of the day, but in both legs. Long or short loose stockings prevent this. Continuing with daily bend and stretch exercises that set me up for the day. Over all I am so happy wth the care from Mr Arbuthnot and the Spire team, as an active 80 year old recommend having a replacement if needed.

Professor Arpit Jariwala

I broke my radial head bone in my elbow and was referred to Prof Jariwala. He advised that I would need an operation due to a comminuted fracture and would need the pieces of bone removed. Before my operation I had limited movement in my arm, struggled to carry out everyday tasks. Professor Jariwala reviewed me 3 weeks after my operation and was very happy with the progress I had made. I now have 90%to 95% movement in my elbow and am now able to carry out everyday tasks with no issues. I want to thank him so much and wish that if I ever have any further issues with upper limb problems he will be the guy to fix it 😊

Very factual, explaining exactly what I information I had previously been given by nhs consultant had mentioned and how it might resolve eventually my condition, then explained exactly what he could actually do for me and how he would go about it, he then told me about how important it was for me to think when to make an appointment for him to carry out the procedure and that I was not needing to have it done immediately but to just take as much time as I wanted as my condition wasn’t going to deteriorate quickly.

From the minute entering the Mole Clinic I was greeted by a really lovely friendly receptionist. I only waited 5 minutes before being led upstairs by the Nurse who put my mind at ease straight away. She took photographs of my mole and could tell that I didn’t need to worry. She explained exactly what it was and gave me advice on the next steps to be taken. I had a hip replacement in November 2025 and found the experience completely satisfactory. The surgery was rapid with minimal scarring (around 2 inches long). I followed recommendations and was on my feet after about 2 weeks and was driving and in the supermarket a week later. I would highly recommend Orthopaedic Innovation to anyone needing replacement surgery using the Klee method. At the time of the surgery I was 82 years old and still active.

I used Eurodiagnosis to have an MRI reviewed online and found the whole process very convenient. Uploading the examination was straightforward and I did not need to travel or arrange another scan. The report was detailed but still easy to understand, and it gave me a much clearer picture of what I should discuss with my doctor next. Communication with the team was also very helpful throughout the process.

One of the few hospitals to be doing it all right. Friendly staff that actually want to help you, appointment was on time, hot and cold drinks in waiting rooms are a plus. I left feeling I was actually heard and helped unlike a lot of other hospitals. I’m not one to recommend a lot of things but if you’re unfortunate enough to need to come here as well, you’re in the best hands you can be in.
