Dr. Shrawan Agrawal

Dr Shrawan Agrawal is a consultant rheumatologist with extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions. He qualified in medicine from Patna Medical College in 1993 before undertaking specialist training across hospitals in London and Kent, including King’s College Hospital.

Dr Agrawal previously served as Clinical Lead in Rheumatology at Medway Maritime Hospital, part of Medway NHS Foundation Trust, where his responsibilities encompassed rheumatology services across Medway, Swale and Dartford. He also served for several years as Guardian of Safe Working Hours for resident doctors across the Trust, supporting appropriate working conditions and promoting standards of patient safety.

His clinical practice encompasses conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis and fibromyalgia, as well as other joint and soft-tissue disorders. He performs joint injections and contributes to the training of other clinicians in these techniques.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Agrawal has maintained a strong commitment to medical education. He has taught fourth-year medical students at King’s College London and has also served as a formal examiner, contributing to the training and assessment of future doctors.

Dr Agrawal promotes a patient-centred approach to rheumatological care, with particular emphasis on the ‘treat to target’ principle, supporting effective disease control and long-term management.
