Dr. Shrawan Agrawal

Dr Agrawal is a Senior Rheumatology Consultant with an extensive background in medical training and postgraduate qualifications including DMRD, MRCP (Medicine), MRCP (Rheumatology), and MSc (Rheumatology).

He was trained in London and Kent Hospitals, including King’s College Hospital, and have taught 4thyear medical students from King’s College, London, also been their formal examiner.

Dr Agrawal was the clinical lead in Rheumatology at Medway maritime hospital NHS trust, covering Medway, Swale and Dartford. He has been 'Guardian of safe working hours' for all the resident doctors at the trust for many years, working on safe working life of resident doctors and so, patients safety. 

Dr Agrawal treats a wide range of rheumatological conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoporosis, gout, lupus, Sjogren's syndrome, scleroderma, myositis, vasculitis, fibromyalgia, and various other joint and tissue disorders. He is skilled in performing joint injections and train others in these procedures.

Passionate about patient-centred care, Dr Agrawal advocates for the ‘treat to target’ approach, emphasizing tight disease control for better long-term outcomes. He believes in holistic treatment and shared decision-making, ensuring patients are active participants in their care. As a guardian of safe working hours for resident doctors at Medway, Dr Agrawal fosters a supportive environment and enjoys mentoring junior colleagues.
