    Mr Navjot Bhangoo is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with nearly two decades of experience. He specialises in Knee arthroscopy and reconstruction, total knee replacements, patella instability, sports knee injuries and complex knee surgery. He practices privately at the Nuffield Health Derby Hospital.

    After qualifying for medicine at Birmingham University, Mr Bhangoo undertook various fellowships, including a partial knee replacement fellowship in France, under Professor Jean-Noel Argenson and a fellowship in the USA under the 'founding father of sports knee surgery', Freddie Fu. He also gained expertise in using highly modern stem cell research techniques at University College London and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. Navjot is known for bringing modern technology and and development to the orthopaedic field, and is constantly innovating for the improvement of patient care.

    From the first moment of meeting Dr Bhangoo I felt he listened, showed compassion and was clear with all the explanations. I had complete trust in him. Over the past few years I had struggled to get health professionals to believe I was in pain, being a younger patient. I felt worried Dr Bhangoo may have the same view.     Mr Bhangoo is a straight talking guy who tells you what needs to be done how he will do it and what to expect after surgery. This I must admit was all a bit daunting as it was my first knee to be done.     On meeting Mr Bhangoo I was impressed with his approach and the comprehensive assessment of the impact of my knee on my life style and general (wider) health and well-being. His explanation of the benefits and limitations of a knee replacement, was clear, but crucially honest. The operation and associated risks were also fully explored. Since the operation, I have recovered quickly, I am back to hiking in the lakes, gym and swimming, and fully enjoying a normal pain free and productive life. I am grateful to the skills of Mr Bhangoo, who combined a very accessible approach with his medical skills as a surgeon, and who was well supported by the excellent surgical and health care team at the Nuffield Derby.
