A bad first impression: I arrived as requested at 7:30 to find no staff in Reception and the whole area in darkness! After about 10 , mins a nurse arrived to take us through to the ward. I had been told by the nurse on the phone doing the pre-op check that I was first on the list. However on the day I was told I was 6th, but suspect there were more than 5 people in front of me, as I was not taken downstairs for the procedure until 1about 11:30.. The problem for me was that I was very nervous and the unexpected delay made me very anxious. During my time in Room 19 the male nurse (?) looking after me did an excellent job, trying to reassure me as well as doing all the necessary preparation. Once I got to the operating theatre everyone was pleasant, efficient and friendly, The sedation was effective and the experience much less unpleasant that the retinal tear repair I had had at Moorfields about 10 years ago. I am now in a much better state to face the procedure on the 2nd eve in a few days time.

The Joint Injection Clinic

A month ago I had the arthrosamid injection. I had never heard of it and initially I went online to find out how others were treating their oesteoarthritis. I found the Joint Clinic quite quickly and was amazed to read that this injection would last about 3 years rather than 3 months for the NHS cortisol injection. My knee was causing a lot of pain especially when the weather changed. I was unable to walk properly, I couldn't walk up or down stairs. My work involves walking and I really thought I would have to retire because of the pain. From day 2 of the injection, I was beginning to walk without as much pain, about 2 weeks later I wasn't limping or experiencing pain at all. It took about 3 weeks to be able to walk up and down stairs without pain. I no longer need anti inflammatory drugs (that was always hit or miss if they would work). I am very pleased with the outcome at the one month mark and I hope my knee pain is no more for years!

Mr Arambage was kind, paitent and empathetic. It was a lovey surprise to speak to a Dr who had already gone through my history and could confidently refer to it, rather than double checking or asking for information already discussed, as this has been a rare experience for me. He was clearly knowledgeable on the subject and could refer to previous experience that was relevant to my scenario and used that to make appropriate recommendations. I liked that his knowledge of my history meant we could skip to important information and have more time to discuss this in detail rather than spend 15min going through my last 2 decades of investigation. Mostly I am relieved to hear a medical professional saying these symptoms are real, with a root cause that can be treated, I am not delusional and to have a clear plan of action moving forward. It is a great weight off my shoulders and I am incredibly grateful for that and for Kirana’s time and efforts.

I am 6 weeks post back decompression surgery. Having suffered for 18months I was recommend to see Carl Hardwidge and wow am I pleased I did! He has literally changed my life which had become so miserable with constant pain. I saw Carl 3 times before I had the surgery and never once was I rushed and he explained everything in detail that was going to happen. Carl really is the easiest person to talk to and has a wonderful funny sense of humour On the day of surgery Carl came to my room and went through everything again and made sure I was ok This was the theme post surgery, Carl visited twice a day for the 4 days I was in hospital, to check how I was doing and generally to just have a chat, even if he did moan on occasions that I wasn’t eating enough 😝 I can literally not recommend Carl enough and I will be forever grateful of his expertise in fixing me! Despite being very busy Mr Streeter found the time to see me very quickly for a consultation after our private insurance company let us down and I was getting concerned about the growth of the tumor. Whilst direct he was careful to understand me and re assured me . The operation was successful and the support has been great. I received a 6-8 week follow up call From Ed Streeter today which was very reassuring and I have been politely informed on what the final follow up will be from here on. In conclusion the service has been timely, professional, supportive and courteous.

Extremely impressive level of care. My husband arrived for a scheduled appointment with our two daughters. The little one did not have an appointment, but had felt unwell during the night. The staff were able to see her and treat her immediately. She would otherwise have had a very difficult time of it, and we were incredibly grateful for their care and attention. Amazing staff (Daniela, Semi) and doctors!!! Doctor Liong Mee Hi was wonderful with our daughter, prescribing the right mix of things to help get her back on track immediately. Very impressive!

Very good overall. Minor gripes only would be the limited parking, limited capacity in waiting areas and that some seating is too low to meet the needs of hip / knee patients . The roll out of the new call centre facility makes for a patchy experience at times and it’s concerning that online accounts fail to show all patient appointments - even with the consultants - which may lead to confusion and potential missed appointments. Work in progress and will surely iron out in time.
