The Portland Hospital was a wonderful place to safely deliver our beautiful baby boy. Our experience was personalised, with very thorough and caring professionals. Our obstetrician, Dr Kenga Sivarajah, was incredibly knowledgable and kind: someone we could trust implicitely and who was there throughout the entire 22 hour labour to ensure a safe delivery. The Anaesthetic team were quick and very effective with the epidural, ensuring that my pain was well managed throughout, with no side effects from the epidural. The nursing staff, both on the delivery ward and maternity ward, were amazing. Ellie and Scarlet were there every step to make sure I was safe and comfortable during labour. On the birth ward, we had regular nurse check ins and a lot of help with breastfeeding positions and latch. There was the option of the night nursery as well, which we elected not to use. The room was very comfortable with a trundle bed for my partner to sleep and a private bathroom (hugely appreciated immediately post birth). The food was excellent, with an extensive menu. The kitchen was a bit slow on some of the orders, but otherwise very good. Overall, our Portland experience was wonderful and we would hope to deliver there again in future.

I attended the hospital to have planned eye surgery consisting of cataract removal, lens replacement and full thickness corneal replacement under general anaesthetic. I arrived early and was allocated to a private ensuite room with secure storage. Nurses confirmed all the necessary checks that had been conducted the previois day in pre-assessment. A nurse applied gel to my hand to numb it ready for a cannula and provided surgical stockings. The anaesthetist visited to re-confirm details and provide reassurance. The surgeon visited to review procedure and risks. The nurse accompanied me to the anaesthesia room and looked after my clothes. After fitting the cannula painlessly, after the anaesthetic I knew nothing until awakening in recovery, with a pad over the affected eye. I was taken back to my room feeling fit and well. Nurses checked on me and provided the refreshments I had ordered. The surgeon visited again to confirm the follow up appointment. Medications were made ready, with post operative guidance. My chaperone arrived to take me home. The whole thing was completed on schedule.

Excellent visit with Dr Wu, exceptional.. I hoped holistic consultant and she more than fulfilled my expectations of trying to find a Dr Wu over since September 2019! Reception warm & kind, helpful, professional by Luke & Amanda from arrival 1.50 pm to departure at 7 pm. Nurse Marieglo again put me at ease. & taking me to Dr Alexandra WU. Excellent also after re tests though the afternoon. Declan Xray amazingly professional & considerate, and colleague. Blood taken by Nurse Ilham - the first time in decades I have not had several attempts leading to bruising lasting 2 or 3 weeks, or indeed, attempts on both arms leaving painful bruising for weeks. With Ilham, one invisible prick, no bruising at all. Tiny round plaster - off in the shower this morning. No mark at all. Excellent. 5.50 pm Final tests ultra sound Hermin and Sciofra. At the end of the day 6 pm

My latest procedure with Mr Howells was for a total knee replacement (TKR) of my left knee following a successful TKR of my right knee three months earlier. Mr Howells again provided a clear explanation of the procedure and of the potential issues associated with the surgery, but presented it professionally and objectively which gave me confidence in Mr Howells and that the procedure would be a success. Mr Howells provided a realistic expectation of the outcome and encouraged post operation rehabilitation to achieve a successful recovery. My recovery from the two knee replacement operations has been excellent and even after just six weeks I know that I can look forward to daily life pain free. I have been, and will continue to recommend Mr Howells for anyone requiring knee replacement surgery.

I truly appreciated the time he took to explain everything to me, making sure I fully understood my options and the next steps. Dr Muirhead and Sam were fantastic from start to finish. I was quite nervous about the procedure but they immediately put me at ease and continued to reassure me throughout. Dr Muirhead was professional, understanding and thorough from the initial consultation through to the end of the procedure, and I know that she will be on the end of the phone if I need any aftercare help or advice. She explained everything clearly and I felt in very good hands.

Yesterday we had our first appointment with Dr Forbes. I am so looking forward to start on our MIT Journey. I know my son will benefit from it. I am very grateful to all the clinicians who are involved in my son’s quite complex health issues. I know it will be a long road to recovery but a well worth it I’m sure. I had online consultation . The practitioner i wanted to see wasn't available and the timing changed a few times. This wasn't good given my acute state of distress. The practitioner was not particularly empathetic. He seemed a bit disconnected and almost had a fake smile. Toward rhe end od the call he tried a kind of "tough love " approach which i perceived as patronising. The prescription and advice was given clearly.

For a place that nobody hopes to ever need to go to, it is a very nice place. I’ve had a few visits. At the Breast Centre, everyone I have seen has been very nice & professional, especially Ms Lobo & Ms Patel. A very special thank you to Alina who has explained everything so clearly , who checks in regularly to see if I’m okay & at the end of the phone if I need her. Receptionists very friendly too!

I had a very positive experience visiting the menopause doctor. The only criticism relates to payment policy. I was required to pay the full amount for my next appointment six months in advance, which I felt was a little harsh. I completely understand taking a deposit to secure the appointment - perhaps 50% would be more reasonable - but paying in full so far ahead of time does feel quite steep.

Dr Fiona was amazing in dealing with my dental issue - in what was probably a very ordinary treatment case for her (wisdom tooth extraction with sedation), was a very anxious procedure for me. She dealt with me gently and sensitively; the procedure was explained very simply and both the treatment and care by her and her colleagues were outstanding. It was very much appreciated!

Mr Eid is very professional and amazing at helping his patients get the right care, I went in with excruciating pain in my shoulder, Mr Eid gave me quick treatment and followed up with xray and scan to find out the reason for pain enduting full disgnosis. I would be still in pain if I were waiting for NHS GP to sort the pain. Thank you Mr Eid..
