I recently discovered I had an AVM from a chance finding on an MRI scan. My consultant recommended I see Mr Grover and I am so thankful that he did. Mr Grover is a world class neurosurgeon with an expertise in AVMs. He has an extremely calm manner which instills confidence, and he shows great care and consideration for his patients, who are going through a difficult time. In my case Mr Grover explained a craniotomy would be the best course of action, which was daunting, but I trusted him completely. I was amazed at how much care he took in the surgery to shave a minimal amount of my hair, which has made transitioning back to normal life a lot easier, and I am very grateful for this consideration. I am now in recovery and, after a recent catheter angiogram, I received the news that I am completely AVM free. I am so incredibly grateful for Mr Grover’s care and expertise, as well as his teams. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

The directions as to how to reach the Ratho clinic were very clear , and easy to follow. The staff in the reception area were friendly and reassuring. the seating arrangements were pleasant and comfortable. The explanation of the surgical procedure, and the time it would likely take, were clear ; I felt quite relaxed about going ahead and was not disappointed. The instructions for post-operation eye medication were clear, and with the assistance of my wife, I think we managed that quite well. I have been very pleased with result of the operation. I have had an eye test with my local optician and will have a further appointment in about 2 month's time. Meantime I am pleased to be driving without spectacles, and using plain reading spectacles for closer work. I am very happy to recommend the Ratho clinic to others. David G. D.

I knew from my consultation with Mr. Pinto that I wanted him to perform the removal of my facial skin lesion operation. He is an extremely professional man with impressive qualifications specialising in facial surgery since 2003, amongst many other qualifications (plus a wonderful sense of humour). The operation took place in his immaculate theatre with two lovely nurses in attendance. I knew I was in the right hands. They all made me feel very relaxed and I was kept informed as to what was happening at each step. I now have the neatest 16 stitches on my cheek. I haven't had any problems since my operation, in fact I haven't even had to take one painkiller which I have found remarkable. I can't recommend Mr. Pinto highly enough.

I wasn't seen on time and I had to ask when I would be seen which was after the next person. It wasn't too late but no-one mentioned there would be a delay. The consultant said who he was and asked about my health situation. He told me of the options I had and for me to chose. I don't feel I was given the opportunity to ask questions, but overall almost I was pleased to have been seen and a resolution discussed.
