This review is 4 years later than it should be, because I only today came across the scan code to do a review. 4 years or 40 years, I will never forget the magnificent Dr Gergana Peeva who delivered our second and final child for our family. I had a very traumatic experience when I was forced into an elective c section at another hospital with our first child, the choice to have a natural birth was taken from me despite my having no medical issues but because I was an older mum, the Dr strongly advised it and as I didn’t know any better, i made the mistake of listening to the Dr. It took me many years to recover from the traumatic c section when induction failed. So second time around, I chose Homerton Hospital as I read many good things on the Care Commission website. When my waters broke, I made it clear at the hospital I wanted to have a natural birth, the difference it the nurses and Dr’s listened to me this time and this really made all the difference to me both mentally and emotionally. After 2 days and much helpful, caring and understanding dialogue between the Dr’s and myself, I agreed to a c section. But this time it was my decision and it was because I understood natural birth was not progressing which was harmful to the baby. Dr Peeva took me aside and gently explained things and we went through my concerns. The nurse who assisted, I can’t remember her name due to the years that have passed, I think her name was Genesis, was also wonderful in her care towards me. I was open to all staff on my previous traumatic c- section at the other hospital and they were willing to listen and their empathy made my second birth, albeit a c section again as I had not wanted, a much better and happier overall experience. When Dr Peeva held up our baby following delivery and imitated the scene from the lion king, it has etched in my mind and memory with deep fondness for her. I can and will never forget the kindness, professionalism and simply goodness of Dr Peeva, a wonderful and amazing human being regardless of her profession.

The diagnosis and treatment were done in the same appointment, and everything was handled with so much care and professionalism. My son is 9 years old and was understandably nervous, but Zack was fantastic at keeping him calm, confident, and engaged throughout the treatment. He was reassuring, patient, and made the whole experience far less daunting. The treatment itself was quick and very well managed. We went back for a follow-up today and were given the all-clear, along with a top-up treatment to remove any remaining dead skin and ensure nothing was left behind. Zack explained everything clearly to both my son and me, which really empowered us and reassured us that this was the best course of action. Zack was excellent — funny, caring, and professional — exactly what you want, especially when treating a young child. I would highly recommend him without hesitation.

I was recently under Jess’ care for my first pregnancy and birth of my son and we felt so safe and supported working with her. Jess has a personal approach with her patients and took the time to get to know myself and my husband, which made us feel very comfortable around her during appointments and the birth. Jess made herself available whenever I needed a question answered or an appointment, she was always contactable via whatsapp and answered any questions (big or small) that I had! There were parts of my birth that did not go to plan (which were outside of our control) and Jess took the time during and after the birth to discuss and debrief on the birth in detail, which were so helpful to me being able to process and understand. I was very grateful to be able to be under the care of Jess - I look forward to being under her care again for future pregnancies and highly recommend her.

Before my 1st appointment with Dr. De Bono, I spent many months unable to get a diagnosis for my heart arythmia. I was very symptomatic and really anxious. Dr. De Bono finally diagnosed me and started me on a treatment plan. He took the time to explain everything to me and asnwered all my questions. He was very thorough and professional. I felt so much better after that appointment. As time went by, the treatment plan needed adapting and once again Dr. De Bono took the time to explain my options, one of which was an ablation. Again, I was very anxious but he took the time to explain all the pros and cons and risk factors. Fast forward, I had the ablation and the care I received was wonderful. I have recovered and now feel I have my life back.

Ami Shukla is the first gynaecologist who listened to me and understood my concerns and worries. I left feeling reassured that my issues will now be looked at properly. Before seeing Ms Shukla I was feeling really lost I found GP's don't really understand womens health. I was previously put on antidepressants and was told that I was feeling a certain type of way because this was all in my head and this was put down to mental health when in realitiy my HRT needed looking at. The HRT was not quite right which is why I booked into see Ami Shukla who has now put my mind at ease and is helping me with my women issues. I highly recommend Ms Shukla to everyone.

The clinic staff were all friendly and very helpful. I was asked if I remembered the procedure for my first op and as it was only 6 weeks previously I was able to remember what happened, This time the eye drops drops were administered in a different way, ie several quite close together and I was very surprised that the op procedure was very different than before, so I wish I had known that in advance. I once can assume that each surgeon has their own way of operating . I had no idea that water was going to be used or that fact that it was going to be painful rather than uncomfortable. Disappointing after such a good visit the first time.

Professor Chatrath is a sensational consultant. His 'bedside' (office) manner was quaint, kind yet direct with information provision/ instruction. His ability to quickly identify the issues I've been experiencing for a while and offer sufficient paths to ease & eventual remediation were first class and I've made tremendous steps already towards fully recovering from my right-side eustachian tube dysfunction! I couldn't recommend Professor Chatrath enough to anyone with ENT-related health issues/ concerns/ worries etc... The staff as Spire Hartswood were, as ever, fabulous too! Greeted by friendly staff and seen at my appointment time. Following a basic health check, the procedure was explained in detail and I was taken to a treatment room for the Gastroscopy to begin. Throat spray was applied, blood pressure and oxygen levels were monitored throughout the procedure, then the camera was inserted via the mouth into the oesopagus and stomach. The process was painless but a little discomfort was felt and took no longer that 10 minutes in total. I was then taken to a recovery room and discussed the treatment findings.

I was very early for the appointment so was encouraged to go to cafe and assured I would be called when they were ready. The receptionist answered our questions with a friendly manner. The nurse was very attentive and explained the procedure whilst preparing the cannular. She even brought blankets as it was chilly in the room. The cardiologist gave time to explain the findings afterwards and advised regarding medication. Excellent service!

Marris Medical were great from start to end. Booking the appointment was easy, with friendly staff. On the day of the appointment I was taken in earlier, the MRI procedure was explained and completed with ease. I was told I would get my report in 24-48 hours (over the festive period) however received it the same day in the afternoon. I would highly recommend them. I would definitely use them again if needed.
