Prior to surgery I was in constant pain I was bent over and not in a good place. The surgery went excellent in my opinion and I am delighted with the results it has completely transformed my life. I have made excellent progress I am happy in myself and I am walking without crouching over and almost pain free. (6 weeks). I was in severe pain for a week, my pain management sorted everything out and very quickly. Now everybody recognises the change and I am walking and driving and confident in myself. My life has changed unbelievably for the better. I am forever in gratitude to Mr Anwar Jafri and I would have no hesitation in recommending him and his team to anyone who has any reservations about having hip replacement surgery.

I had a lumbar microdiscectomy at St Anthony’s and the care I received was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind, patient and attentive throughout my stay. In the post-operation recovery area, the Irish nurse who looked after me was especially wonderful. I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name — I was still a bit loopy after the anaesthetic — but she was unbelievably kind, gentle and reassuring at a moment when I really needed it. On the ward, Rose was also fantastic. She checked on me regularly, made sure I was comfortable, and was so warm and supportive. Her kindness made the first night after surgery much easier. Overall, the team at St Anthony’s made what could have been a very stressful experience feel calm and safe. I’m really grateful for the care I received and would highly recommend the hospital.

Dr. Tilottama Nandy asked all the necessary questions before proceeding with the polyp removal and even made some small talk to help put me at ease, which I appreciated. However, the option of local anaesthesia was not discussed beforehand; though before administering it, she did confirm that it was safe during pregnancy. The preparation for the procedure felt lacking, as the anaesthesia and the scalpel/scissors were not readily available. The nurse had to leave to gather these while the speculum was already inserted, which caused additional discomfort that could have been avoided with better readiness. After the procedure, the doctor ensured that I rested for about 10 minutes and checked that there was no excessive bleeding before discharging me, which I found reassuring.

Following my initial consultation I was offered a date for my surgery which was only two weeks ahead which completely surprised me as I expected a much longer wait I attended my surgery and was treated with courtesy and respect by all of the staff I encountered I was put at ease both before and during the procedure my surgeon My discharge nurse explained clearly what I needed to do with my medication and also how to keep my eye clean I received a phone call from a nurse the day after my surgery checking that everything was okay. I have nothing but positive things to say about the whole experience and would recommend Newmedica to all of my family and friends.

Too often I have experienced consultants who ignore other possible factors outside their specialism that may have an impact! Dr Takeda was very thorough in his analysis including what choices were available to confirm a final diagnosis.At all times I felt he communicated in lay man's terms so that I could completely comprehend and felt part of the discussion. I can't recommend Dr Takeda highly enough and would fully recommend his services.

However, at check out when you try and apply the code, you get a strange error message asking you to have at least £30 worth of items in your basket even though the basket total far exceeds the £30 threshold. When I e-mailed them to alert them to this error, the "customer service" agent provided a cold dismissive response, without so much as an apology. Rude staff. Suffice it to say, I did not receive the discount.
