Mr Darshak Patel

Mr Darshak Patel is an accomplished Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon who graduated from University College London with an MBBS awarded with Distinction in Clinical Science. He later completed an MSc in Clinical Ophthalmology with Distinction at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership with Distinction from the NHS Leadership Academy. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and holds a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) as well as the Certificate in Laser Refractive Surgery (CertLRS).

Mr Patel has extensive experience across multiple ophthalmic subspecialties, having worked in leading institutions including Moorfields Eye Hospital, Western Eye Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, Moorfields at St George’s Hospital, Princess Royal University Hospital, Queen Mary’s Hospital, Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, and Barnet and Watford General Hospitals. His clinical background spans inpatient care, emergency ophthalmology and highly specialised surgical services.

He has a particular interest in complex cataract surgery and lamellar corneal graft techniques, combining advanced surgical skill with meticulous attention to outcomes. Committed to delivering excellence, he continually audits his surgical results to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Known for his clear communication and approachable manner, Mr Patel is highly regarded by both patients and colleagues. Alongside his clinical work, he has demonstrated strong leadership and organisational skills, balancing service development and management responsibilities with a busy surgical practice.
