Essex Private GP

The appointment was for our grandson who was very poorly. As it was a Saturday we could not get him an appointment with his GP so was advised to take him to a pharmasist who told us our grandson needed to see a doctor that very day. In desperation we made an appointment with a private GP. We were seen within the hour. The receptionest was very kind and courteous. The waiting room was clean and tidy. The doctor was friendly and courteous and polite and put out grandson at ease. He was also very thorough and diagnosed a chest infection for which he prescribed antibiotics. The whole experience was excellent and we were very relieved; we would definately use this practice again if the occastion arose and would highly recommend it.

I liked the traffic light system used to present and interpret the blood test results, as it made the information much easier to understand. However, I think the practice should be mindful of the recommendations it makes to self-funded patients. The advice given can significantly influence whether someone decides to pursue a private self-funded pathway or whether they may be better served by being discharged back to their NHS GP for ongoing management. If there are significant differences in the cost of treatment or investigations, patients should be made aware as early as possible. Otherwise, it may be too late before they realise the financial implications, which could affect their decision-making.

It is easy to book an appointment and Dr Lach is a knowlegeable, kind, caring doctor.
