Last year, I decided to see Mr Holland after experiencing several years of severe symptoms of what I thought the time was endometriosis or PCOS. I was quickly put ease when Mr. Holland was talking through various symptoms and next step plans, including a helpful referral for a urologist and scans. I didn’t feel pushed to go through a certain route and was carefully provided with all the risks that came with surgery - I was also listened to and that made me feel seen considering my symptoms. However, my surgery experience with Mr Holland and his team was absolutely exemplary from start to finish before my operation. I had various tests and one test came back. That wasn’t completely accurate so they encouraged me to come in and sort this out rather than leave it, on the day of surgery I always carefully walked through what was going to happen I had nurse advice and the care at the hospital that I received was 10 out of 10. Post surgery I wasn’t pushed out the door and was encouraged to begin my rehab firewalking and the nurse was close to be monitoring me. I wasn’t just left and following up I was I had regular checks and even post three months after surgery I had a consultation and was advised of appropriate next steps. I appreciate how scary this situation can be for young women, but I was always put it ease and no requests or question was too silly or small, now almost 8 months per surgery I feel like I totally new woman and that is all thanks to Mr Holland.

Mr Tony Nargol

I had a full knee replacement in April 2024,due to bone on bone friction and pain. That affected my lifestyle and movement. Mr Nargol undertook the procedure via a epidural. I was awake for the the whole operation. I was in hospital for about 30hrs in a room to myself and was monitored throughout. I was able to walk out with less pain than I went in with (with medication). I was pain free after four weeks. I was able to resume gardening and able to walk about a mile daily. Throughout Mr Nargol explained the whole procedure in a way that I could understand with kindness and understanding. I was given exercise's to undertake and kept to them as planed and explained. I feel that these were to key to my recovery and full range of movement in my knee. I can not recommend Mr Nargol enough to any one that needs a knee replacement. He has improve my outlook and lifestyle with his knowledge and expertise in this area, to the point that I do not feel that I have a knee replacement. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Nargol in giving me a new lease of life pain free.

I recently completed a course of CBT sessions with Dr Sharon Pettit, focusing on managing my anxiety, worry, and rumination. When I first began, I struggled significantly with social interactions, often feeling socially awkward and fixating on past conversations. My mind would race with worries about things entirely beyond my control, pushing my anxiety levels to an all-time high. It felt like I was in a constant state of fight or flight, from the moment I woke up until I went to bed, leaving me completely drained. Now, almost six months later, I've gained valuable tools to help manage my thoughts and emotions. While I wouldn’t say I’m completely cured, I feel about 75% better and am now enjoying a much happier life. I've decided to take a break from CBT for the time being, but I'm committed to returning if I notice my anxiety levels rising again.

After the first right eye cataract removal Mazen Tahhan gave me his telephone number and said to call him if I had a problem. I am a very keen insect photographer and found with the distance lens I could not see the camera screen clearly. I became worried about the impact on my ability to focus close up on insects. About 8 p.m. I sent him a text briefly outlining my concerns . He called me back immediately and listened carefully. I was even considering other options than the NHS lens and he kindly sent details of these. However he advised me to I stay with a close-up NHS lens to get as much light into the eye as possible. I followed his advice and am very pleased and very satisfied with the result. Sabina George

Dr Patel listened very carefully to my symptoms and concerns and immediately understood the problem. He had taken time to familiarise himself with my medical history which was very helpful. He explained everything carefully, clearly and in enough detail so that I understood what was happening at all times. He advised and expedited my clinical tests and fed back to me very promptly. This was very useful in helping me to make further decisions about my current medical treatment. I found Dr Patel to be incredibly professional, kind and understanding. This was my second cataract operation on my left eye having had a very successful cataract removal and lenses replacement on my right eye performed by Mr Sian a couple of months earlier at Musgrove Park. Mr Sian’s skills , patience and care are exemplary. The outcome hss exceeded all my expectations. For information I initially saw Mr Sian at the Nuffield and had my resulting procedures at Musgrove Park due to the complexity of both eyes. My comments apply mainly to Musgrove although are also applicable to treatment received by Mr Sian at the Nuffield Taunton.

Everything was very good, except for the fact that I was asked to come in at 10.00 for an operation that started at 13.45. In the first 3 hours I was with you spent 2 hours in your waiting area before being taken downstairs. In the next hour, all that happened was that I had my blood pressure taken and changed into a hospital gown. The operation and post operative care was excellent

Reassuring me about my expected recovery. And if needed I could see him again if I had any further concerns. But he was very happy with my progress, which would continue to improve.
