The hospital was generally quite nice and having your own room was lovely. Sadly the condition of my room was poor but I believe this may have been because rooms were in the process of being updated but unfortunately I was placed in an old one that was tatty. Although all the necessary equipment was there it did need updating and for a private hospital which I had never experienced, I was surprised it was like it. The food offered was great and the staff that discussed and the food choices were so lovely I couldn’t fault them. I found all staff to be very pleasant and the majority were very concerned for my health. During my stay I found it difficult to get comfortable and the extreme heat the country was experiencing at the time certainly didn’t help my recovery as there was no air conditioning in the room, just a fan! The most difficult part of my journey was the pain, sickness and all the drugs administered. I couldn’t eat or sleep and I was very weak but, the staff cared for me as best as they were able.

Mr Arun Kumar

Following a referral from my GP practice, I was accepted for total hip replacement by the NHS to be carried out at the Spire Hospital Manchester. I subsequently attended a preliminary consultation with Mr Arun Kumar who examined me and agreed that the best course of treatment would be a total hip replacement. His team subsequently booked me in for all the necessary tests and surgery was booked for Sunday 7 June 2026. The surgery was carried out without complication and I was discharged by Mr Kumar the following day Monday 08 June 2026 after a post operative x-ray confirmed the surgery had been successful. I have since attended 4 physiotherapy class sessions and have found the whole procedure to be without any concern whatsoever. To conclude, I would not hesitate in recommending Mr Kumar to anyone in need of hip replacement surgery. He explains everything fully and is a very professional surgeon.

Mr Riley treated me for Carpal Tunnel syndrome on both hands… performing an outpatient surgical procedure on my right hand and advising just a conservative splinting approach on my left hand. The whole experience before, during, and after the procedure could not have been better. Mr Riley explained everything very clearly and was very reassuring throughout. The procedure was totally pain free and very successful. He was anxious to reassure that he would be immediately available for any necessary follow up. Additionally the support around the procedure from his assistant, Mirela, was always very friendly and efficient. I believe Ménière’s disease is difficult to diagnose. Therefore, I didn’t get a solid diagnosis for anything and I still feel vulnerable especially having been told to cease taking medication (Betahistine). I understand to a degree the consultants logic but I cannot say I’m 100% confident ceasing the medication, especially having had 2 x vertigo attacks while taking the pills (8mg). I felt the conversation was somewhat hurried and found it a little bit difficult to give information that I thought may have been relevant to my condition. I have had many consultations for various ailments and my feedback has always been very positive. Unfortunately, I cannot honestly say the same about this experience. Nothing was offered to me to try to improve my hearing in my right ear.

Having seen Mr Michael previously some years ago for a hip replacement, I was keen to be seen by Mr Michael again. I have now had both hips replaced and the whole experience by Mr Michael and his team was expertly managed. When I unexpectedly had an allergic reaction a few days after hospital discharge, Mr Michael recognised and knew how to treat the issue straight away. I am now happily getting on with everyday life , pain free. I recently went on holiday and cycled over 550 miles, only 3 months after my op. As you can imagine I am delighted. I have previously recommended Mr Michael to a relative, who went under his care for a hip operation too. She too is happily getting on with an active life. Thank you, Mr Michael and also to the whole wonderful team.

After an ECG and echocardiogram by his exceptional colleagues at OHC, I was incredibly grateful to learn that my ECG was completely normal and my heart healthy and strong. Dr Shabeeh has also arranged seven-day ECG monitoring to investigate any intermittent symptoms, demonstrating an outstanding level of care and attention to detail. A highly knowledgeable, warm and reassuring consultant who gave me complete confidence in his care. I am truly grateful and would recommend him without hesitation.

After just one appointment there is light at the end of the tunnel, we cannot recommend this practise highly enough.
