Miss Mavridou's consultation was very patient friendly - for the first time I really felt listened to. She explained things well, I felt she was looking at my issue in a holistic way not just tackling the problem in isolation. Her expertise and keeping up to date with menopause research became apparent as we spoke. I was not rushed or pressured into anything and she had a caring nature. However, my experience was poor before I got to see Miss Mavridou. I arrived 45mins early, and after check in was not called for my appointment. After 20 mins after my due time, I asked about the delay and the reception did not seem to know where my consultant was. They called her and she was in an upstairs clinic, and another patient with dementia had apparently came when she called my name and the resulting confusion led to my husband being telephoned which led to his day being ruined somewhat as he thought I was in an emergency. I was finally seen an 1hr 40m after my original time. Admin apologised but it turned the whole day (I had to travel 1.5hrs to get there) into an exhausting experience.

From my very first meeting with Mr Siddiqui, he immediately put me at ease. He was honest, professional, and gave me the best advice throughout the whole process. His staff were incredible and provided me with so much helpful information beforehand, which really helped me feel prepared and confident going into surgery. On the day of surgery, I felt extremely well looked after and reassured. Everything was immaculate, clean, and very professional, which made the entire experience feel calm and comfortable from start to finish. Since my surgery, I’ve been contacted to make sure everything is going well, and I know I can contact the clinic at any time if I need anything, which has been very reassuring. It’s still early days as I only had surgery on Monday, but despite some swelling and bloating, I already feel amazing and can tell the results are going to be incredible. I first met Dr Thomas in January 2026 and had a follow up over the phone in May 2026. I'd been fainting a lot, and have been rather ill with POTS, which had changed in its nature, so it was unclear whether something else was going on. My local hospital had ignored pushes from my GP to review me, which also worsened another condition that couldn't be treated until it was confirmed as safe. After a 14 day ECG and echo, I followed up with Dr Thomas, we followed up; he was patient with me, answering all my questions, reassuring, and clear in his guidelines and recommendations for medication. He's very kind, funny, and sees the patient as a person, too, and evidently extraordinarily intelligent without being intimidating. I can't wait to get my life back and "back to animal magic"!

Mr Michael Hughes

My experience of my dealing with Mr Hughes was of a person who was considerate and totally professional in his work. He was easy to talk to, had a relaxed manner and was fully focused on providing the correct outcome for my medical problem. After examining me Mr Hughes explained the benefits of the surgery being carried out and thought that proceeding with an operation was reasonable. He discussed with me the risks associated with surgery and anaesthesia and also with regard to my history of deep vein thrombosis. On the day of my operation he met me along with the anaesthetist and provided assurance of the procedure to be undertaken. Afterwards he visited me in my room and assured me that all had gone well and advised on the rehabilitation that I should follow.

Professor Steven Brown

General Surgeon

Prof Steven Brown is a senior and highly respected general surgeon. My issue this time was not a major one, or at least that is what I thought. However Prof Brown swiftly, and correctly, diagnosed the situation as being potentially more serious than I thought, and recommended surgery. The process for this, I.e. pre-op assessment etc, is now underway. As always, Prof Brown was very professional, very helpful, and very clear in his assessment and advice. This is everything you hope for at a medical consultation and means that you have full confidence in the process and outcomes. I would of course recommend him to other patients without hesitation. I went to see Mr Kayani as a follow up appt, I recently had a knee revision, was in hospital for nearly 3 wks due to a previous fracture & an infection, I had 5 star care from all the staff at The Coleman Unit, I want to say a special thank you to Mr Kayani for giving me my life back, the surgery could off gone either way, luckily for me it has worked and will be able to get my life back on track, most importantly play & run with my 18 month old granddaughter, once again thank you Mr Kayani & your team.
