My sessions with Rich were a life line during a difficult period in my life. His honest approach led me to confront aspects of my personality I hadn’t considered, and helped me enormously. I left each session with more self knowledge, and now my sessions are over I feel like I have a new tool box of strategies and self awareness that will stand me in good stead for the future.
Rich was very approachable and easy to talk to. He really helped me work through my relationship issues and I would highly recommend him.
Rich helped me understand my reactions and triggers which has helped me to better navigate my life. I am more self aware which has improved my confidence as well as my relationships with those around me. He often explained using his own experiences which helped me understand how I could use the theories we discussed in real life. I found our session meaningful and with each week I felt lighter within myself. I enjoyed our weekly sessions and know he is just a text away if ever I need support in the future.
I met Richard when I was facing probably one of the most critical challenge in my life. Richard started by explaining to me with such clarity, the mechanisms underlaying my emotional feelings. With this first instance scientific approach, he helped me going beyond what seemed to be totally out of control and foreign feelings. Getting a picture of the mechanisms involved grounded me and kind of stopped my fall. Then, Richard very naturally added his compassion, his understanding as a thoughtful human being and together with the first scientific approach it achieved to bring me all the support I needed and the strategy how to deal with what I was going through. Throughout the sessions, Richard has also very discretely but strongly enhanced my self-confidence, he was very honest, always leaving reality being what it was, just helping me dealing with it but never underestimating or changing it. Considering his action as a trigger of my own resilience, he gave me technics and keys which I could use long term after I stopped seeing him. Richard has an outstanding knowledge of psychological mechanisms, and is a very compassionate therapist, combining both skills makes him a very special professional. So cleverly, he understood my pain and brought the help I needed, the way I needed to receive it.
Dr Doherty was very engaging making sure I understood the process and really helped me drill deeper in a lot of my behaviours to try to transform them myself. The whole process truly feels like it has helped me be more aware of my behaviours and almost 2 years on since I first reached out I can still use a lot of the mechanisms we discussed during our sessions. With all that has happened in 2020 I would have greatly struggled to go through it without the support and tools received by Dr Doherty.
Dr. Doherty assisted me through a challenging time of my professional life. He helped me clear through the noise to arrive at the right decisions.
Dr Richard was the first professional help I sought that legitimately helped me progress. He creates such a calm, clear and open dialogue that by the end of just the first session I felt safe and comfortable and hopeful for the sessions ahead.
Dr Doherty has helped me through several personal issues over the last few years. He provides insightful and actionable advice that I have always found to be highly relevant to the most important issue facing me.
I can highly recommend Rich. He has helped me a lot this past year. The route cause of my issues can seem trivial to some - But Rich has very quickly absorbed this and been great at listening and giving me the tools I need to manage things. He is just a really good guy to talk to, as well as a great therapist.
I’ve been seeing Rich for nearly two years and have benefitted greatly from our sessions. Dr Rich has a very gentle manner which makes me feel safe when talking about painful experiences. I actually really look forward to therapy.
