About Hands On Physiotherapy
Hands On Physiotherapy is a physiotherapy practice in Handforth, Cheshire, established in 1993 by Andrea Wright and Philippa Widdowson. The clinic focuses on identifying the underlying cause of pain or discomfort and developing personalised treatment and rehabilitation programmes to help patients manage their condition, reduce pain and return to everyday activities.
The team treats a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, including sports injuries, spinal and postural pain, neck and back pain, whiplash, arthritis, soft tissue injuries and acute joint problems. The clinic also provides post-operative physiotherapy and rehabilitation following procedures and injuries such as joint replacements, tendon repairs, fractures and dislocations, as well as vestibular physiotherapy and treatment for temporomandibular disorders.
Treatment options include mobilisations and manipulations, massage, acupuncture, soft tissue techniques, kinesiology taping, orthotics and individual exercise and rehabilitation programmes. The clinic also uses electrotherapy including low-level laser therapy, ultrasound and interferential therapy, alongside Deep Oscillation Therapy. Patients are supported with specific exercises and educational advice to help them understand and self-manage their condition where appropriate.

I have seen Andrea Wright, the owner of Hands On Physiotherapy for many years now for various conditions. I have always had the most professional care with a friendly and approachable manner, and have found the treatments and advice very effective, backed up by digital advice for the exercises and great follow-up. Have recommended Andrea to family and friends, and very highly commend her and the practice to anyone.
I have attended Hands On Physiotherapy several times recently for a back issue and also over recent years whenever I have needed help. The physios are excellent and take the time to understand the issue and explain the treatment plan which is then available online for easy reference. You are made to feel completely at ease during every session. I would highly recommend.
