About Andrea Wright
Mrs Andrea J Wright is the Founding Physiotherapy Director at Hands-On Physiotherapy. She qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Sheffield City Polytechnic in 1988 and subsequently spent 13 years working at Wythenshawe Hospital. Her experience has focused primarily on musculoskeletal conditions, and she has also worked with Sale and Manchester rugby teams.
Andrea has worked as a clinical specialist in the management of patients with non-surgical lower back pain. Her particular interests include the causes and treatment of back pain, complex faulty movement patterns associated with postural weaknesses, and soft tissue injuries related to racquet sports. She left the NHS in 2001 to expand her work at Hands-On Physiotherapy.
Her postgraduate training includes kinetic control stability modules, orthopaedic medicine, the MACP course, Muscle Energy Techniques and kinesiology taping. She undertakes regular postgraduate training to remain up to date with current techniques and attends international conferences annually. Andrea also has experience in Deep Oscillation Therapy and lectured on the subject at the AACP Conference in 2016.
Patients have described Andrea as friendly, efficient and courteous. She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Physio First.

Andrea was absolutely fantastic! After struggling with knee pain while running, I decided to book a consultation with Hands On Physiotherapy , and I’m so glad I did. Andrea talked me through a bespoke strengthening exercise plan, prescribed me some insoles, and just a few weeks later I can already see such a huge difference. I’m feeling so much more confident with my running again. I just wish I’d gone sooner!
