Although I'm based in the north of England, under London Prostate Clinic they had been keeping a watching brief on a low level prostate cancer diagnosis and enlarged prostate since 2018. Taking a daily Tamsulosin tablet had been effective until December last year when I had a UTI that made me quite ill. In March this year, another serious UTI caused me to have a catheter fitted at an A+E hospital. My difficulty passing urine had worsened due to the increasing enlargement of the prostate, so after research I decided that the HoLep route of treatment would be the most effective and have the least side effects long term. I discovered Dr. Matthew Liew working out of Spire Manchester hospital and from the first consultation he put my mind at ease with his calm professional manner and good humour. The operation date was arranged within 3 months and was a complete success. I am now back to normal urine flow and complete bladder emptying. My PSA reading has dropped from a high of 11.5 to 5.2. I had 2 post op consultations with Dr. Liew where any questions or concerns were discussed and I am now looking forward to maintaining a normal life, urologically speaking! (age 66).

I had a total knee replacement and from start to present, I have been treated amazingly. All staff are amazing and simply brilliant at their job and in particular care of patients. Special mention to Salmon (Sal) who looked after me on the day post operation. he was superb, so helpful and patient. The team that looked after me immediately post op, were terrific, so kind and understanding. Mr Gillespie's pre-operating team were so reassuring especially when I was so nervous regarding the spinal block. Thank you to everyone for such superb care and attention. My experience was very disappointing with the consultant. I was happy for my appointment to be changed just before attending due to the consultant running late. I was very disappointed with the lack of interest and time shown to be by the consultant. I got 10 minutes of his time to be told to cut out caffeine at the cost of £250. I was hoping to receive some understanding of what could be causing recurrent UTI's and reassuring me of any fears of anything sinister i.e bladder cancer. Only to be told this only occurs for around 10/20% of cases. I think what really irked me was he looked at his watch part way through me speaking This I found very disrespectful and rude.

Received urgent call requesting blood test for tolerance to Dye. I Moved appointments for that afternoon to facilitate a flying visit. After arrival kept waiting for 35 minutes until I asked reception as was needed elsewhere and was told phlebotomist would be with me shortly. With Phlebotomist approx 3 minutes, total time 50 minutes and 50 miles traveled Then had to wait 9 days for scan which was only scheduled following chase-up from private GP. On presenting for CT Scan was told that they did not require blood test as procedure did not indicate use of dye. Most unimpressive communication and administration throughout

I'm sure it was being decorated when I visited 6 months ago. Still is. Before appointment they send forms to be completed online. No problem with that except one is for COVID asking if anybody on the family has been to a country on the government red list or been told to isolate by NHS. Neither of those things happen now. I raise it every time and nothing changes. Almost as if nobody reads the reviews. So much for "quality"
