Mr Jamil Ahmed is a Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon who has worked in the NHS for more than 20 years and has performed thousands of plastic surgery operations successfully.
Mr Ahmed is full member of British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), British Association of Plastic & Reconstructive surgery (BAPRAS) and The British Society for Surgery of the Hand. Mr Ahmed has completed Surgical Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School.
He undertook his specialist training in plastic surgery in Southwest England & London and was instrumental in setting up the Hand Surgery service at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, London where he worked for 10 years before moving to Aberdeen in 2014. His comprehensive training in plastic and reconstructive surgery has covered all the subspecialties of hand, skin oncology, breast and reconstruction using free tissue transfer procedures and aesthetic surgery.
After completing the FRCS (Plast) exam and being awarded his Fellowship in Plastic Surgery by The Royal College of Surgeons in 2013. Mr Ahmed was also awarded European fellowship in Plastic Surgery. He was awarded European diploma in Hand Surgery. Entry into the prestigious GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery and started his NHS plastic surgery consultant post at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he is currently the Clinical Lead.
As a GMC recognised Trainer, Member of The Scottish Training Committee (STC) and Speciality Advisory Committee (SAC) UK. Mr Ahmed is instrumental in training registrars in this speciality and this academic interest continues to mould the careers of his juniors and leads to the propagation of his diverse skills. He is also a Fellow Member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh and is a
course director for two International Hand Surgery and flap Courses in London and Aberdeen.

Mr Ahmed explained everything to me very clearly, from the first consultation all the way through the process. On the morning of the surgery I was very nervous and he tried to put me at ease - not an easy task. After the surgery he came to see me, explained how it went, checked me over etc - again very helpful.

I visited Dr. Ahmed for breast asymmetry corrective surgery. From the very beginning at the initial consultation right through to being fully healed, Dr. Ahmed was extremely professional, informative, and attentive. He knew this was a very sensitive issue I struggled with. I am now fully healed from my surgery, and it is very clear that Dr. Ahmed is highly skilled, I could not be happier with my results. He was very good at explaining the operation and told me exactly what he was going to do. During the procedure he always checked I was ok and kept me updated as how things was progressing,if I had any questions during procedure he always answered them fully. After the operation he checked I was ok and happy with everything as he did on follow up meetings.

Mr Ahmed ensured I was aware of all aspects of my procedure including limitations and risks. He was courteous, knowledgeable and took time to ensure I had no questions and understood all aspects of my operation.

Not knowing which surgeon to go to at Albyn I was very happy to be booked with Mr Ahmed for my surgery, I was given all the necessary information on the surgery and also given information to read at home. Mr Ahmed was alway available day and night after surgery incase of any questions or worries, but this was not needed as my op went so well. After care has been first class. I would highly recommend Mr Ahmed.
