About
Mr Humayun Ayub Khan is an experienced Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon seeing private patients at The Alexandra Hospital. His surgical knowledge is expansive, ranging from thyroid surgery, paediatric surgery, urology, microvascular surgery, burns and cosmetic plastic surgery.
His NHS special interest is in burns and plastic reconstructive surgery in adults and children. especially skin cancer. He is currently lead of the Adult burns service in Manchester. He is an active member of the regional skin cancer multidisciplinary team. His other NHS work include scar revisions, abdominal and perineal reconstruction, post weight loss body contouring.
Dr Ayub Khan was awarded his Fellowship in General Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1992, after which he gained considerable experience in General Surgery, Thyroid Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Urology and Burns. Much of Mr Khan's work in Pakistan included treating trauma patients from the Afghan civil war of the 90's which inspired him to further enhance his experience in plastic surgery.
Mr Ayub Khan relocated to the UK in 2000 and became a Fellow in Plastic Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006. He was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in 2007 and later completed his Master's degree with a merit award in Aesthetic Surgery from Queen Mary University of London in 2013.
Since then, Mr Ayub Khan has accrued expertise in breast surgery including breast reductions, augmentation, mastopexy and gynaecomastia surgery.
Other procedures he performs in the private sector are abdominoplasties, liposuction, upper and lower blepharoplasty, Prominent ear correction, split earlobes, Botox injections, and scar revision surgery.

Mr Khan is a pleasant man but he spoke as if I have medical knowledge and I had to ask a lot of questions in order to understand the nature of the lesion (including whether or not I needed to be concerned) and the treatment plan.

From my initial consultation with Mr Ayub Khan I felt at ease and happy for him to be my surgeon. He is extremely knowledgable, professional and realistic about the results I should expect from my bilateral breast reduction and breast lift. The day of my surgery came and I felt at ease, and excited. I knew after our consultations that he would make my breasts in proportion to my body shape and I can 100% say that he did just that. I can remember coming back up to my room after surgery and I was so eager to see my new breasts, I can honestly say I cried absolute tears of joy! My life has truly been changed for the better because of his expertise and surgical skill. I feel more confident, I no longer have a heavy, dragging feeling on my chest and the neck and back pain I had always had instantly disappeared after my surgery. I have very recently had my 6 week post surgery check with Mr Ayub Khan and I am still extremely happy with the outcome of my surgery. I hope he realises that he has really made a positive impact on my life by doing my surgery and for this I will be eternally grateful.
