We cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care our 14-month-old son received throughout his umbilical hernia repair journey with Mr Thakkar. Our experience with Mr Thakkar was world class. We were very fortunate to be referred to Mr Thakkar for our 5 month olds’ two inguinal hernias. From the outset, Mr Thakkar was extremely responsive and accommodating (including an initial remote appointment). He explained the options clearly and without pressure, and has a very calm and reassuring bedside manner, which was great for our baby. He is also clearly very skilled and the procedure went as well as one could hope. The team at the Evelina went out of their way to make our brief stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Putting your child through surgery is an incredibly stressful and uncertain experience, but Mr Hemanshoo made the whole process far more manageable for us. During our pre-surgery call, he took the time to explain everything clearly and answer all our questions and concerns. He was professional, straightforward, and honest about the procedure, including the possible risks and dangers, which made us feel informed, comfortable, and confident in the decision. The recovery happened exactly as he had explained. Having spoken with other families whose children underwent the same surgery at different hospitals, we feel especially grateful that our child has not experienced a single post-surgery complication. It was great and very well explained the procedure

Dr Thakkar was clear, personable, articulate and had great beside manners. We saw him for our son's tongue tie and he took the time to explain everything clearly to very 2 distressed parents who were late due to heavy traffic. He was very professional and efficient without adding any pressure to proceed with the tongue tie division. We felt he gave great patient care especially accommodating seeing us quickly in a few days.

We felt safe entrusted in Dr Thakkar’s care. My son’s operation and recovery went well and we are deeply grateful.

Mr Thakkar was excellent. I went in with the suspicion of a tongue tie on my baby and he was incredibly helpful and realistic. I would recommend him for a assessment of tongue tie, in the end my baby did not have one, which was great news.
