We couldn’t be happier with the results of our two-month-old son’s procedure. Simon and his team were fantastic from start to finish — kind, professional and very accommodating, especially when arranging an appointment at short notice. Naturally it was a stressful day, but the procedure was very straightforward, with the small injection being the worst part. Afterwards, our little boy was happy and completely unaware it had even happened! This was our main concern and ended up being the reason we went ahead with the procedure, as having this done while our boy was under 3 months meant that it could be removed while he was awake. The hospital was easy to locate and we opted to park in a nearby private car park across the park which was a very short walk. Many thanks to Simon and the team.

Simon was absolutely amazing from the very first minute to the last. He immediately put Grayson at ease and kept him calm and reassured throughout the procedure. The surgery has been absolutely brilliant, and having access to this service has genuinely been life-changing for our son. Baby had a small lump of skin in front of his ear (accessory auricle of the ear) at birth. Thankfully this had no impact on his health, but we were eager to have this removed. My partner and I researched thoroughly and contacted numerous clinics. As a Clinical Pharmacist myself, a reputable clinic with accredited clinicians was vital. Actual patient perspectives also helped to choose. Dr Simon Filson had the best reviews, and we now understand why! He responded quickly to any concerns, and we were very impressed with the whole process. He also fitted us in within a week for both the consultation and procedure! Baby had a lovely day out in London as the clinic was very central, making it easily accessible We felt very well informed for the procedure as Dr. Filson explained everything, and allowed time to clarify anything. He had an amazing bedside manner which put us immediately at ease. Baby was understandably uncomfortable during the injections, this may have been because he was 3 months old. I only wish we would have had it done earlier, but reading about it made it feel so frightening. Thankfully the injections didn't last very long and he was calmed before the actual procedure, which took a matter of minutes. The recovery was also quicker than we had expected. As advised, it looked very similar for the first week, but then jumped to almost healed at the 10-day mark. I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Filsom for the removal of skin tags that were snagging on my clothes and were quite painful. Dr. Filsom was a delight, he was very reassuring, responsive to my emails and did an excellent job removing the tags. The procedure was quick and painless, just a small scratch from the anaesthetic injections. I am so relieved to have the tags removed and plan to see Dr. Filsom for any other dermatology needs in the future. I would highly recommend him.

After struggling to find someone who could repair my daughter's split earlobe, which came from an earring ripping out a few years ago, I managed to contact Simon at Evelina London Children’s Hospital over the summer of 2026. From our first conversation, Simon was friendly, straightforward and very reassuring. We initially had a consultation of around 30 minutes via MS Teams (that was our choice because of the distance to travel to London), during which Simon carefully explained what the repair would involve and what my daughter (12 years old) could expect on the day. He immediately put her at myself at ease and made the whole thing feel far less daunting. On the day itself, we were at the hospital for about an hour in total. Really straightforward. Simon and his colleague were excellent throughout. They talked my daughter through each stage, let her choose some music to listen to, and created a very relaxed atmosphere. After applying numbing cream and allowing it time to work, the procedure itself only took around 20 minutes. The repair was carried out in the middle of August and, six weeks later, the result is excellent as you can see from the photos. The dissolvable stitches have gone, the healing has been very straightforward and there is now only a small scar where the split used to be. My daughter is applying cream regularly to help minimise the scarring, and we are all really pleased with how her ear looks. What particularly impressed me was Simon’s aftercare. I found the procedure very easy and straightforward. It didn't hurt, and it was very quick. Simon was very helpful and reassuring through the process, and I'd recommend him to others. It was definitely worthwhile getting the skin tag removed - I am glad I decided to choose it.

Our son was born with two ear tags. We were referred to a plastic surgeon by the NHS and had a very poor experience, with the surgeon using a completely outdated removal method which actually caused more issues and didn’t work. After some research we found Simon and booked an appointment. From the outset, Simon couldn’t have been more professional. He answered our many questions over email before the procedure. On the day, he made us feel at ease and explained what was going to happen clearly. The actual procedure was over quickly and Simon did a fantastic job. The scar is healing quickly and Simon has been checking in with us frequently to make sure it’s healing as expected. Being new parents and having a poor experience with the NHS, we are incredibly grateful to have found Simon and couldn’t reccomend him highly enough to any parents going through something similar.

My 16-year-old daughter was born with a large mole on her forearm that increasingly affected her self-esteem and confidence. She refused to wear short sleeves or to go swimming as she felt so self-conscious and embarrassed. I didn’t think we had any options to remove it; I knew the NHS couldn’t offer a “cosmetic” procedure and I worried about the cost and reliability of private practitioners. Being able to have the procedure in an NHS hospital was reassuring somehow, and although the private route was not an easy option for us, it was absolutely worth the money to get my daughter’s peace of mind back. He contacted us again once we were home and encouraged us to keep him updated with emails and photographs, checking in with us regularly throughout her recovery. Simon gave us so much time and care, both in person and online, monitoring my daughter’s healing and making sure she was happy with the results – she was delighted! Simon is an exceptional surgeon and a genuinely kind person. The pinnaplasty has been life-changing for my daughter, and we are so grateful to Simon. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
