I underwent surgery at the end of September to repair an umbilical hernia, core stomach muscle repair, tummy tuck and liposuction. Having met Matt the year before when he carried out a bilateral earlobe repair to my badly split earlobes, I had no hesitation in asking him for his help and advice again. Due to the hernia and muscle separation, not to mention the large overhang I had following a hysterectomy a few years ago, I plucked up the courage to go ahead with surgery and I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. Three months on and already the results have superseded my expectations. I won't lie, I was scared stiff at the thought of such a major surgery, but after a couple of consultations prior to making a final decision, I felt completely reassured and certain that I wanted to go ahead. I was actually surprised how calm I felt on the day of surgery and I attribute this to Matt and his wonderful team at the Real Clinic, Battersea. My surgery was around 8.30am and I was home by 4pm that afternoon with Matt's mobile number in case of any worries or concerns. There is of course some pain and discomfort following any major surgery which I fully expected, but I was surprised that I only needed a combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol for the first few weeks. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Matt. He's a true genius and also very kind and genuinely caring of his patients. Thanks again Matt, you've totally changed my life. I look and feel better than I have for many years!

Matthew James is an excellent surgeon. He has a compassionate approach. He is kind , patient and has a lovely manner. Very down to earth. I trust his judgement implicitly. I highly recommend him. OMG my name is Lesley Flynn, I’m 62 below the jawline my neck was drooping. Every single day I was unhappy. I decided to look into neck/ lower facelift. I saw one consultant. That did not go well.Then I remembered that my mother had full facelift 40; years ago at Blackheath hospital. I contacted them and got referred to Mr James. I went along to my appointment, decided “yes this is for me” I had surgery with Doctor Matthew James and it’s been totally life changing. I’m sooo happy.😃 From wearing a scarf or a high neck. Most fantastic experience with Mr James and his team at the Real clinic, his aura is absolutely undescribable, I had new implants which I’ve had in for 18 years I’ve also been suffering from capture contractor in one, so to have them replaced was quite daunting for myself but to have Mr James as my surgeon made this experience exceptional, two days after surgery I was able to do a drop off at school, the pain was so minimal and no bruising. The after-care has been fantastic. I would highly recommend Mr James to anybody that was getting surgery, especially if you’re a nervous person the comfortability of having him as your surgeon will make you feel so at ease.

After researching a number of surgeons, In 2014 I underwent abdominoplasty and muscle repair surgery with Mr. Mathew James. Although I was slim my tummy looked bloated and despite vigorous exercise my tummy never looked flat. Mr. James explained that my tummy muscles had become separated due to childbirth and could be reattached during the tummy tuck procedure. He explained all the pros, cons and risks in detail. I decided to go ahead with the procedure and I can honestly say that it has 100% positively changed how I feel about my body. Ten years later, I am now 69 years of age and my tummy is still flat, I can still feel my stomach muscles tighten when I exercise. The scar has faded to obscurity and I can still wear a bikini on the beach. in 2016 due to the positive experience I had with Mr. James (it was a no brainer) I decided to undergo a Blepharoplasty procedure and liposuction to get rid of the fat under my chin. I could only trust one surgeon to work on my face. The result was fantastic and within two weeks I was back at work looking refreshed. The results have been long-lasting and I am still very happy with the outcome of the procedure. In November 2024, once again visited Mr. James with a view to remove my breast implants and perform a breast uplift with fat transfer. Mr. James recommended that I should wait for the fat transfer as he felt that I would be happy with the breast size result following removal of my implants. I took his advice and am so pleased i did. Very good indeed thanks to Matt. Took over a year for me to feel ready to have this surgery from first consult because it was so near my eyes. In that time I felt unrushed, not at all ‘pitched to’ and 100% understood in my anxiety about it. Little things like making it easy to carry on the conversation even after a year helped me reach my decision in my own time. On the day the clinic team were highly professional, and kind too. Can’t thank Mr. James enough! After major weight loss, I met with a number of potential surgeons across the country, so I can say with confidence, everything from Matt’s professionalism to after care is unmatched. I was referred to Mr James by my consultant to find a solution for my reoccurring hernia. Mr James explained an abdominoplasty with a repair of the rectus divarication would solve the problem. Naturally I was very nervous and anxious about the surgery and recovery, however both Mr James and my consultant kept me calm through a clear line of communication.
