I recently had a breast reduction and had such a positive experience with my surgeon and overall journey. From the very beginning, Mr Basu was personable yet professional, which really helped keep me calm throughout the process. He took the time to answer all of my questions and made me feel reassured every step of the way. I have been taking Mounjaro for approximately a year due to diabetes, and during that time I’ve lost around 10kg. Alongside taking Mounjaro, I’ve also made significant lifestyle changes by improving my diet and exercising regularly, which have both played an important role in my weight loss and overall health. Because I was quite anxious about the anesthesia and had never had surgery before, I decided to stop Mounjaro 4 weeks before my operation, just to be on the safe side. The surgery itself went smoothly. I did feel a little sick a few hours afterwards, but once I’d rested, I felt much better. I also didn’t want to rush back onto Mounjaro, so I waited until 1 week post-op before restarting it. Personally, I’ve had no symptoms and haven’t noticed any negative impact on my recovery process since restarting the medication. The breast nurses have also been incredibly helpful throughout my journey, always being supportive, reassuring, and happy to answer any questions I had. The nurses at the Priory Hospital where I had my treatment were also amazing and made me feel very well cared for before and after surgery. I honestly couldn't recommend Mr Basu enough. His professionalism, expertise, and compassionate approach made what felt like a daunting exper...

Mr Basu was wonderful, he was extremely thorough in his examination and questions. He listened to all my worries and ensured that I had a scan speedily and talked me through that simply after. He reassured me based on my family history and made me feel safe in his hands.
I have always had large breasts and was already a JJ cup by the time I was 18 or 19. From my early twenties, I began suffering from persistent back and neck pain. As the years passed, my symptoms gradually worsened and became both physical and psychological. My self-confidence was deeply affected by my body image and by the stares, sniggers, and comments I would frequently notice from strangers in public. One of the most difficult experiences for me was not being able to breastfeed my two boys because of the size of my breasts. This left me feeling as though I had somehow failed as a mother. Over time I became increasingly self-conscious but largely kept both my emotional and physical pain hidden because I felt embarrassed and humiliated by the size of my breasts. After having my second child, I finally found the courage to visit my GP to discuss the possibility of a breast reduction. Unfortunately, this request was declined and I was advised instead to lose weight. However, exercising had become increasingly difficult due to my breast size and the worsening back, neck, and shoulder pain that physical activity would cause. Over the following years my symptoms worsened further. I experienced constant back and neck pain, rashes beneath my breasts, and deep indentations in my shoulders from bra straps digging into my skin. I began to explore the option of having the procedure privately, but I was declined by Nuffield due to my BMI. Two years later the pain had become even more severe and was affecting me daily, which in turn contributed to further weight gain. As my boys...
