Mr Emeka Okaro is a consultant obstetrician and the lead clinician for benign gynaecology at St. Bartholomew's and the Royal London NHS Teaching Hospitals in London. He first qualified in medicine in 1991 from the University of Nigeria and has since become a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Mr Okaro specialises in early pregnancy complications, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders (fibroids, polyps, polycystic ovaries), abnormal smears, endometriosis, and ovarian cysts. He has specific expertise in gynaecological ultrasonography, is a qualified diagnostic and therapeutic colposcopist, and is RCOG accredited in minimal access surgery (laparoscopic surgery).
Mr Okaro has a passion for research and is regularly asked to speak at national and worldwide conferences on the use of ultrasonography in the therapy of common gynaecological disorders. Throughout his career, he has published several research papers in both international publications and medical books.

Mr Okra was very patient with me and explained what he was going to do. He made you feel calm and not rushed. He has a very pleasant manner and you feel at ease when seeing him.

I have had a hysterscopy/biopsy and a scratch with Mr Okaro and each time he has been amazing! Everything is explained clearly & professionally and I’m quite a nervous person but he has made me feel at ease each time!

Mr Chukwuemeka Okaro is fantastic. He is welcoming and puts you at ease. I came here after an unfavourable experience with another Doctor. I feel I will be in good hands when I have surgery. His practice manager is so lovely too. I intend to have him as my gyno for a long time to come now I have found him.

Amazing from start to finish. After our having our previous child and having a traumatic experience, this time around we opted to go to for a c-section at the Portland and chose a meeting first with Mr Okaro from a long list of doctors based on the reviews we had seen. From the minute we met him, we knew he was the man for us. Kind, caring, and attentive, our best interests were kept at heart at all times and our needs met in every respect of our care. No questions we had were left unanswered and feeling totally at ease we chose to have our baby with Mr Okaro. The care throughout really was amazing with all the services he recommended from our sonographer to our anaesthetist 5 days before the planned c section date, my waters broke and I called the Portland to let them know. On the way to them, they let Mr Okaro know and by the time we got there, he was there, prepared and within an hour and a half, we had the baby. Now having aftercare and soon to be discharged but the whole experience has been amazing and Mr Okaro has made that for us. Thank you! Elise and Maks
