I had my fifth planned C-section with Dr. Sotiris Nicholas, and understandably I was quite stressed going into it. From the very beginning, however, he did everything possible to put me at ease and truly made the experience positive and reassuring. He was incredibly attentive and thoughtful—for example, he avoided me having to endure a double needle prick when the lady came to collect the baby’s cord blood. Throughout the procedure, he explained every step clearly, letting me know exactly what he was doing and what to expect, which helped me feel calm and in control. As a lovely bonus, he also took beautiful photos for us in the operating theatre, which we will treasure. I am extremely grateful for his care, professionalism, and kindness, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for such an important moment.

Dr Omar Ahmed was introduced to my case after a planned colonoscopy was performed. There was a complication with an abnormal polyp and he stepped in and took charge of the situation. I spent 3 days at the Royal Free PPU as an in-patient following major surgery and I have nothing but praise for the treatment I recieved from start to finish. My surgery was scheduled speedily, the operation went as well as hoped, and all of the PPU team members who took care of me - Consultants, Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Housekeeping - were professional but at the same time, kind and reassuring. I was really anxious about the surgery and for me, the care that I received as an in-patient, made the whole experience so much less stressful.

I was a bit taken aback by the total expense at checkout, as the cost wasn't explicitly mentioned or discussed during our consultation. I was simply asked if I wanted to purchase them here today. It would also have been helpful for me as a patient to understand if there were any alternative products available through NHS, even if they weren't the primary recommendation.
