We feel so fortunate to have been able to have our daughter delivered at the Portland Hospital. Our room, the food, the care, everything was exceptional. Most of all we are grateful to the incredible midwives, who looked after us with such warmth and patience. We felt so safe in the knowledge that one of these incredible women was there around the clock to look after us and guide us through the early days and hours of our journey into parenthood. The various healthcare professionals (paediatrician, physio, lactation consultant, pharmacist) as well as the registrar who came to see us were all exceptional individuals too and it was incredibly helpful to be seen by all of them during our hospital stay. A special thank you goes to Pat, our amazing midwife, who accompanied us on the day of our birth. We couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful midwife to be with us on this incredible journey.

Mr Tim Biggs

Mr Biggs was the only ENT surgeon who improved my nasal respiratory issues significantly. And it has been life changing. 1st op quartering wasn’t enough 2nd op tried to correct a deviated septum and broke my nose and made matters worse 3rd op tried to correct damage of 2nd op but left a whistling hole in my septum 4th op was to repair hole in my septum that once again blocked my breathing. Finally Mr Biggs offered me an operation no one else did and it has had the best results. My breathing at night is vastly improved and also when exercising. Because I am on Biologics that cause rhinitis I am very grateful to Mr Biggs for improving my quality of life, vastly. I waited a long time but it was worth it. I wish this op was what I had been offered initially. That would have saved an enormous amount of funding. Maybe treatment options can be better managed to save on number of ops.

I arrived at the appointed time, checked in with the receptionist given forms to complete which I completed & handed back to the receptionist, after waiting half an hour passed my appointment time I was still waiting to be seen, eventually my partner asked a male nurse if Mr Patel was running late, and we were told that we were the next to be seen, when we were invited in to see Mr Pater he was very apologetic for keeping us waiting saying that there had been an administrative error whereby he had been told that I hadn’t arrived for my appointment, Mr Patel commented that he thought that was strange as the paperwork I had compieted on my arrival was on his desk. So he realised that I was there but nobody had apparently bothered to check.

I came to urology as a private patient because I am allergic to so many antibiotics my own doctors had failed to prescribe something that would clear an infection I had had for six weeks. Within ten minutes of seeing the urologist and explaining things he prescribed medication that has cleared the infection and it hasn’t returned in the last five weeks. I am thrilled with the service I received and the prompt action of the urologist. I have since undergone further tests, which have had only a short wait time, perhaps a week. All I all I can’t thank the team enough for everything they have done. I finally felt listened to.

Everything went well. The hospital is clean , staff are very welcoming and professional. I saw Ms Clare Rowan, she was very welcoming and professional. She asked me questions and listened to my answers. My last carpal tunnel surgery was a total success and today’s visit consisted of a checkup and appt for carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand, which I have no doubt will be equally successful. I was made to feel welcome and heard from start to finish. Highly recommended.

So often you're made to feel as though someone has another place to be, or that your concerns aren't being heard - I didn't feel this way at all. I would highly recommend Mrs Spanu, she listened to my concerns regarding my recurring gallbladder attacks and operated on me within a week to remove my gallbladder using her connections at various London hospitals to find me the theatre space and team at Highgate Hospital. If she had not acted so quickly the complications would have impacted me for much longer. A couple of weeks later I was feeling much better with Laura on hand to answer any queries or concerns.

Mr Muddassar Hussain

Mr Mudassar Hussain has been exceptional. He handled the biopsy with great skill and care, treating me with empathy and sensitivity: extraordinarily I had no pain at all after the procedure. He then handled giving me the subsequent news about my prostate cancer diagnosis with huge sensitivity and support, explaining everything carefully and answering all my questions sensitively. He could not have been better and I have complete confidence in him.

The Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital

I recently had my first baby by elective Caesarian section at the Lindo. All members of staff were kind, caring and professional. They created a calm and magical atmosphere, all while delivering the highest standard of care and this allowed me to relax into my new role as a mother.
