I had my assessment with Dr Shyamal Mashru who was super! He explained everything thoroughly and patiently and is clearly very knowledgeable in everything relating to ADHD. I was clearly a tricky patient to diagnose in that I’m 55 years old woman and have been masking for a lifetime.. we had time and I did the QB check test which I found incredibly intense but helped the diagnosis results immensely in that it’s an objective test, not based on anything you answer nor what an informant says about you.. I never received the written results for this test which I did ask for and would very much like to still receive! Overall it was a great experience and definitely has created an inner calm now with my positive diagnosis which explains so much of so many questions I was living with unanswered for my entire life.. I am grateful to Dr Shyamal and would definitely recommend him! On a negative, I do not understand the high prices for ADHD assessments and it feels unfair to not be more accessible to the general public.. as it can such an incredible relief to get the diagnosis, assurance and support after so many years of being overlooked and misunderstood.

I arrived early as advised and checked in via an iPad, the receptionist offered us a drink. Waiting time was approx. 5 minutes in a lovely clean warm modern waiting area and i was seen by Mr Sturdee. He advised that another x ray would be needed and the Xray was carried out almost immediately...! I made another appointment for a weeks time. Parking was easy. The only negative comment i would make is that I did make the original appointment for 18:00 on the 4th of September but this was changed via a message which i didn't fully read and so when I arrived on the 4th, my appointment was missed as it had been altered to 8:40... Perhaps when the appointment is changed, a bold warning could be put at the front of the message/email so that the message is not simply scanned over. Mr Sturdee also mentioned that he does NOT work at that time on the date of the original appointment and so there is a mismatch somewhere from the NHS booking system that allowed me to book the time of 18:00

I have been Mrs Mathews’ patient for many years and trust her competence and expertise implicitly. Since my last visit I had noticed a deterioration in my vision. My optician suggested that maybe I needed laser treatment. After numerous tests and scans, Mrs Mathews confirmed that laser treatment was possible. She explained in detail the problem and then gave me choices regarding having it there and then or postponing the procedure. She also offered to do one eye only if I wished. Throughout our discussion the decision was entirely left to me. I opted to have laser treatment in both eyes as my sight would then be what it was post cataract operation. The procedure was painless and quick thanks to Mrs Mathews’ expertise. By the evening I found my eyesight clearer and was able to read small print without glasses. I am most grateful and consider myself fortunate.

The Consultant was very caring and supportive but I didn’t really feel that he had any conclusive answers to the best way forwards for me. I would have preferred face to face appointments with more time offered. I feel that HRT is still such a poorly researched and misunderstood treatment that even when you speak to a specialist, it’s still all vague . I’d researched the side effects of testosterone myself and when I suggested these to the consultant, he agreed but he didn’t offer them in the first place. He did offer me an open appointment for a year which I appreciate but now I’m back to the GP to investigate other treatments for tiredness. He even threw CBT into the mix but as I therapist myself, I know this isn’t what I need. Basically, he did his best but the time offered wasn’t really enough.

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both hips. Fortunately, I was referred to Mr Berwin who immediately made me feel at ease at the initial consultation with his professional explanation coupled with an exceptionally reassuring manner. Within two months Mr Berwin had replaced both my hips and literally got me back on my feet. Before my first operation I could hardly walk even short distances without walking poles, and even then I was in great pain. Mr Berwin’s surgical skills in replacing my hips have left me pain-free. Now, eight weeks after my second operation, I can walk 5k with ease and am able to get on with my life. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results of my hip surgery or with the standard of care I received from Mr Berwin and his team.

Very pleased with my psuquiatrist professor ears misri who really seemed thoughtful about details in my case such as trying to get the same room I was admitted the year before , so could be more conmfortable and Deborah, my one to one. Sessions had a lot of information but I wish there were more visual content, especially because there is a TV in room b14 and I noticed it was only used for entertainment films when I believe any visual content related to the theory can make easier to put so many strategies in film. The nurses were amazing and always reminded me gently of meal times and were supportive in every way to help me socialize with the group.

I found from my first contact with Mr Nick Ohly regarding hip replacement surgery that he has a calm and listening presence and is able to tune in to what I am saying and understand exactly what I am asking or what is concerning me. This continued throughout my stay in hospital for surgery and into my recent 8 week post operation appointment where Mr Ohly was once again able to give me from his considerable knowledge and experience clear and helpful explanations and reassurances. I have felt and continue to feel very positive about the treatment and care I have received, am receiving and will receive when my second hip has surgery later this year.

I underwent a total knee replacement with Mr Haslam and I genuinely cannot fault the care and attention I received from my initial consultation right through to my full recovery. Mr Haslam has a friendly and approachable manner that immediately puts you at ease. He takes the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and makes you feel completely confident that you are in safe hands. I am now seeing him again due to pain in my other knee, and once again, I cannot fault the care and attention I have received. I am extremely grateful for the excellent care he has provided throughout my treatment.

I am a regular patient and usually just have a check-up and occasional x-ray, but this time I needed a swift appointment as I had broken a tooth. I was offered an option for 48 hours but unfortunately had work commitments and since I wasn't in constant pain (just had to be careful when eating) I opted for one the following week. Saw my usual dentist and he cleaned, checked and filled it with no fuss and in no time. Wasn't even painful. Was charged the NHS tariff and the tooth feels fine. Excellent service.

This was a follow up visit following treatments earlier this year and at the end of last year and proved far more useful than I could have expected , finding further areas needing attention. This actually gave more reassurance than it may sound, as I was hoping for a ‘full MOT’ and got it - and these are being found early .
